Anyone know a good place where I could find the hat that matches that jersey? Either the Canada Day oen or the regular blue one...

In New York, replica Nets away jefferson jerseys (3 copies - all navy all embroidered), replica SuperSonics jerseys (all screened on), Rangers' jersey (NHL, third away blue), Seattle Mariners "alt" jersey - just the Mariner compass logo on the left side of the jersey, Rutgers used basketball warmups, a few Notre Dam jackets.

I'd post actual pics but I don't have the jerseys with me at the moment, but earlier today I went back to Kensington Market and picked up two new beauties. I almost bought a 3rd but I had to resist (it was a Nagano Team Canada Red jersey in DECENT shape, could have been better and I'd have been sold on it).

I got the red one WITH a glued CCM logo on the hem for $20.

And I got the white alt, a pro player version for $18.

And speaking of "Thrift Store" Gems. Not sure if this exactly qualifies, but the savings do in some way, right? :P

Man, when I went to Kensington Market, all I saw were beat-up Champion NBA replicas and rec league jerseys. Oh well, looks like another excuse to head back to Toronto.

For all the bird de lis haters I think the bird de lis isnt supposed to be a pelican and a fleur de lis I think its just a fleur de lis with a pelicans head. Thats what it looks like to me. If you come down gimme a shout and I'll tell you the stores to go into. The good ones are few and far between but they sometimes have some beauties in them.

Pretty worthwhile trip to Goodwill today. No jerseys, but...

Original late 60s-early 70s Washington Senators t-shirt, "Caucasian Invasion" rec league jersey, awesome vintage 80's South Carolina t-shirt, South Africa rugby t-shirt, 2 Ralph Lauren polos, 2 other t-shirts, "Best of S.I." book and a sweet 1940's world atlas (I collect them) for a grand total of $19 and some change.

Wow, certainly a good day for you the49erfan15! I'm taking a stroll to the Goodwill in Springfield, MA tomorrow morning, so hopefully I'll be able to pick some good stuff up. If I find anything good, I'll make sure to post it, but that's a big if....

  • 4 weeks later...
Yesterday I found a sleeveless Arizona Diamondbacks home jersey (01-06 design) at TJ Maxx. Looking back, it doesn't look like they wore a sleeveless home jersey, but still a great buy at only $15.00 . I may try to make it into a Randy Johnson jersey.

Nice buy on the DBacks jersey! If you have a Marshalls you check them out. I bought last year's Toronto Blue Jays Road jerseys for 12 bucks.

And to 49erfan that Caucasian Invasion rec league shirt got a good laugh out of me. I wish I could find something like that at my Goodwill.

Yea, my Marshalls is hit or miss. A few years ago though I found a 2004 American League All-Star Batting practice jersey. I didn't buy it because it was a size too small and still regret it. I also saw a XXL Brett Favre replica, but I already had an authentic. However last time I went they had nothing. Maybe I'll check again soon, its been awhile.

After reading through this, I decided to take my first trip ever with my new license to the Marshall's and TJ Maxx in Pittsford NY (which are conveniently, or inconveniently, located right across from each other) and found nothing of sports jersey related stuff. Aside from several Yankees shirts and boxers, and an occasional NY Rangers shirt, I was extremely disappointed. The only thing I bought was a pair of stewie griffin boxers for 5 bucks.

I'm hitting up one of the many Salvation Army's and maybe a Goodwill tomorrow though. Let you know how it goes.

I mentioned this in another thread, but I got this jersey for $10 in a thrift store a couple weeks ago:

tampabh2.jpg

I found that in a store 2 years ago and they were selling it for $70 and I didn't have money on me at the time to snag it so I went back a few days later to get it and it was gone. I wanted that baby so bad, or any one of the 3rd jerseys from that era... especially the Kings one. Sigh... maybe one day...

It's real hit or miss, you've got to check every once in a while if you're in the area. Maybe ask them when the truck usually comes in, and make sure to check those days.
