Hiroki Kuroda of The Dodgers has a perfect game thru 7 against The Braves.

Play of the Year so far for [skip Caray] The Bravos [/skip Caray] as Mark Teixeira doubled to start off the 8th.

Try being a Mets fan, Im going to Saturday's game wearing a Paper Bag on my head.

You can remove the bag, Tnak.

Don't look now, but the team you gave up on in early-June now just stands 2.5 games behind the first place Phils.

Seriously, if somehow the Mets storm back and (God forbid) win the World Series I really feel that Tank should not only be stripped of his Mets "fanhood" for all eternity, but as well lose his posting privlidges for anyhting Mets, Dolphins, Devils, or Republican related for at least three months.

With Milwaukee taking Sabathia off the market, it appears that the Cubs have shifted their attention to Oakland's Rich Harden. Chicago Sun Times

Deep down, I don't believe Chicago will be able to pull it off, but it's assuring to know the Cubs are trying to upgrade their starting rotation. I would imagine Toronto's overpaid and often injured starter, A.J. Burnett, will be the player the Cubs end up settling for. I suppose Burnett would be a decent addition for the Cubs' stretch run, but he's not a pitcher the Cubs would turn for the playoffs with Zambrano, Dempster and Lilly ahead of him in the rotation, so if they go after him, I hope they dont give up much.

On the flipside, Harden would be an instant #2 starter in Chicago. With Oakland pretty much out of the AL West race, and their well-known history of dealing players before the reach their absolute prime, I can definitely see the A's shopping Harden to a contender. I fear that it could boil down to what the Cubs have to offer from their farm system, which I hear isn't all that much. But really, who knows how Chicago will react to the Sabathia deal, so it is plausible. I guess we'll just see how it plays out between now and July 31st.

As I told you, if Oakland is gonna deal away one of their starters it's gonna be whoever is foolish enough to invest a chunk of their future for a possible playoff push (and probably collapse) when they deal a top prospect or two for Joe "Jelly Roll" Blanton. I still feel though that the team to do that will most likely be Philadelphia.

The Mets should wear paper bags on their heads the next few games. I would be ashamed of my fans. It's baseball, every team streaks for the good and bad. You can't give up in June.

If you're going to do that you may as well just finish the job and put him down. It would be more humane. :D

A's send Rich Hardin and Chad Gaudin to the Cubs

Chicao Sun Times -- The Cubs have acquired Rich Harden and Chad Gaudin for right-handed pitcher Sean Gallagher, outfielder Matt Murton, infielder Eric Patterson and catcher Josh Donaldson.

Our BEST pitcher for a crappy pen guy and a catcher and some mid level outfielders? :cursing:

I'm about to pull a Tnak here, gasket is long since blown. Screw wasting any more money on this team building for the future, there is no future because WE KEEP TRADING IT AWAY!!!!

I didn't take long for the Cubs to counter the Brewers move. I like this move a lot for the Cubs, I don't think they gave up much to get two good pitchers.

This is an incredible move for the Cub's. It's one thing just to get Harden but Gaudin's a stud too.

I think Billy Beane :censored:ed up on this one...

And with Gaudin in Harden goes one more team with a chance at that AL Wildcard.

I have to agree with you here. This team is in 2nd place, 6 GB but have a 3 game series with LAA before the All Star Break. This team is still in the division! While Harden is oft-injured, their best starter is a former reliver.

I gotta admit, weird trade for the A's. You'd think after jettisoning most of their starting pitchers, Hardin would be the one guy to base your rotation on. Apparently not. And this with the team very much alive.

How many position prospects can the A's stockpile???? Enough is enough. Cheap bastards.

Schott/Hoffman look like Steinbrenner compared to Lew Wolff.

Especially considering they'll probably eventually trade those prospects away for more prospects before they help them win anything...

Ugggh, I am on the cusp of a full out Tnak eruption right about now. I am literally sick to my stomache over this one. It's to the point that one of these will be my next A's purchase.

Really terrible considering just how much hope for the future there was for this team. Hell, I even thought bringing in a guy like Matt Holliday wasn't out of the question. But alas, once again, won't happen. But despite just how much I hate management, I'm still gonna remain a fan. At least I can try to take solace in the thought that when we do win, times like these will just make it that much sweeter....... I just hope I'm not 90 by the time that happens

With Sabathia to Milwaukee and Harden to Chicago, does this mean we can expect a big move from the Cardinals within the next coming days?
