B-Rich Posted August 5, 2008 Share Posted August 5, 2008 Last night, I caught a game between the hometown New Orleans Zephyrs and the visiting Las Vegas 51s-- first time I had seen the 51s. The font on their jersey ("Las Vegas" on the front, nameplate on the back) seemed awfully familiar, like I had seen it somewhere before. A quick check online after I got home confirmed it for me:That's right, it's the same font used on the credits of the original "Star Trek". Sort of appropriate, I guess...Also, the 51s had this guy playing for him:Taiwanese player Chin-Lung Hu, who has "Hu" on his nameplate. Unfortunately he plays shortstop, not 1st base, or we could have a lot of fun with an actual case of the old Abbott & Costello routine..... It is what it is. Whenever I travel I love being able to catch a baseball game if possible. This summer I've been able to catch a Mariners, Rainiers, Dodgers, and Rays game. (In any other year I wouldn't admit watching a Rays game) Baseball is just an awesome sport to watch live. There are some minor league parks worth visiting. Cashman Field is not much IMO, but Cheney Stadium and PGE Park are worth going to. SLC has a good park. But, my favorite will always be Wrigley Field. Sasquatch is a legend of the Pacific Northwest, the yetis are from the Himalayas. They're similar, but not the same. Roswell Grays or Roswell Aliens with the 51s logo would work.
