Colts look especially horrible with two large patches.

Maybe it's just me, but I will actually not watch so much football if I have to stare at those hideous patches the entire season. Upshaw was not 17+ week patch-worthy, and while his death was tragic, I'm sure most people are already over it. The patches, after this week, should be optional. Does the NFL know how tacky this looks, or is it just us? They wouldn't even let the Rams do a tribute to Georgia Frontiere, and now everyone has to wear a gigantic black dot honoring an NFL executive who was probably on his way out anyway. Didn't Matt Stover organize a plan for a new union rep. after 2010?

On the Packers tonight, because the shoulder numbers are so wide, the GU patch is actually sewn over a portion of a front number on some players. Frickin' reprehensible.

At least they have neither Captains' patches nor stadium logos (like they did last year). If they ditch these stupid Upshaw patches, they will have jerseys with no clutter (besides the NFL Equipment tag). Can you imagine?!

Meh, FWIW Upshaw deserves a tribute more than Frontiere.

Perhaps, but they eliminated a one-week tribute to Frontiere because they didn't file properly, then allow a 17-week tribute to Upshaw. It's just another reason why it seems like they're overdoing it.

I hate the masturbatory Upshaw memorials, but that's not actually true.

The Rams were allowed to add a uniform patch to honor Georgia:

They just weren't allowed to add a new uniform. Those require more notice under current regs.

I thought they just wanted to wear a throwback, but I see that they did do a uniform patch. Good find, and I stand corrected.

Even at that, though, a full season is still excessive. I somehow doubt the Frontiere logo will be there that long.

If it's not, then I would imagine the decision was made by the Rams, not the NFL.

The Rams are wearing a "Georgia" patch on the front left part of their jerseys this season in memory of their late owner, Georgia Frontiere.

Yep, they are helmet decals for the Lions and Packers too.

Why are the Packers' TV numbers so large, and it seems to me that they are all angled towards the front of the jersey.

Donald Drivers jersey is the worst.

(This picture doesn't really illustrate my point, but if you turn on the Lions-Packers game you'll know what I mean.)

Also, great play by Packers right now, nice interception for Woodson, probably caps the game.

EDIT: Another interception, this time by Collins. Pack is up 48-25.
