Too many outlines. It's black trimmed in silver trimmed in teal trimmed in black. They're also too well-designed, if that makes any sense. So slick, so soulless. Brave corporate logos all around.

i just sent this email to the mets, hopfully the will get the jist of how bad the patch is:

"hello, im a huge mets fan, and i speak for myself and many other mets and baseball fans at baseball-fever.com and sportslogos.net, i am greatly dissapointed in the patch the mets will be wearing this season for citi field opening. the logo first of all for citi field is so pathetic and boring and unimaginable, who got paid to make that up? and then you take that same pathetic logo and make it a patch on the mets uniforms next season with a generic pathetic font? did you see the yankees inagural patch, or how about the cardinals patch from 2006....thats how a real patch is suppose to look. it is absolutley a disgrace that the mets went with this patch for such a great year. the shea stadium patch was great but the citi field logo and patch is an absolute disgrace and the mets should be embarassed and ashamed to go along with such an unimaginable and pathetic design. also how can you get rid of the black road uniform but not the black home uniform? the black road looks better then the black home uniform. i heard that the mets will wear the black home jersey on the road too, i really hope this is not true. the mets should just wear the grey with blue hats if they get rid of the black road jerseys. thank you"

The Red Sox alternate road... will that strictly be worn only on the road? Because I can't think of a single MLB team (off the top of my head) that has an alternate uniform they only wear during road games.

mets black road uni...but apparently are ditching it next season. i liked the road black better then the home black.

1. Minnesota has home and road alts. Same color, the home with the underlined Twins wordmark, and the road with Minnesota in block letters.

2. Are the Mets really ditching the black alts? I would be thrilled if they did. Where did you hear this?

Spell check, capitalization, punctuations, and grammar are lacking in order to be taken seriously :upside:

All kidding aside here, do you honestly expect anyone to take a message seriously when it's that poorly written? Spelling and grammatical errors aside, it reads like the ranting of an eight year old.

A severely-challenged eight year old.

Plus, where's the idea for an alternative inaugural season patch?

I don't see the correlation?

The '90s births replaced "competently use English" with "unwittingly propagate naked pictures of self at an exponential rate" in their skill set.* It's just one of the ways generations differ, I guess.

*Sean Salisbury was not born in the 1990s, though.

So would each person born in the '90s would be be charged with having some form of child pornography?

My photoshop skills suck but I think that this would have looked like a much better patch for the jerseys. The Mets are selling this hat with Citi Field on the top instead of the Mets:

CitiPatchcopy.jpg

Exactly. That's exactly what these de-corporatified patches are supposed to look like.
