Truthfully, I thought it was a modest, if somewhat incomplete upgrade (with the return to red), until I fully saw the batting helmets in the video.

These would be much better if they had a blue helmet and a red helmet. It's almost like they couldn't afford to do that, so they got a blue and red helmet. The Mets helmet is a lot better (it's not good, just better) because both colors are close to each other. With the red and blue being so distinct, the helmet looks terrible.

The black outlines on the fancy font make it look way too busy.

And I can't decide if Elmo threw up on a blue helmet or Grover threw up on a red helmet. That is terrible--at least the black/blue Mets ones were subtler.

Here's the problem, the Angels took the Rangers look, and now the Rangers can't use that old-west look, which they should've done from day 1.

I can't call the number font "pointless", because they've taken standard block numbers and stuck points all over them, but I can call it "stupid".

And I'm already on record as opposing custom fonts for NOB...

Like the fact that the Rangers added a red jersey. Don't like anything else they've done with this set.

It's the same font they have used since 1994, and during which time it has had a black drop shadow.

Basically the only thing different is that they droped Rangers from the home. That is why I said this was a pointless change in order to drive up sells revenue.

I LOVE that red Rangers hat though. It reminds me of when Pudge, Raffy, and the rest of the squad we're actually a pretty decent ballclub.

When I was just skimming down the page that's what it looked like, the red Halos jersey.

If the Rangers wear that for Angels games in Texas. That'll be confusing for a little bit.

And also that batting helmet is terrible. ugh.

I have to agree with Bucfan. I find that red hat rather nice. I also love the new numbers and letters. It reminds me of Brothers font a little.

Oy, that number font is bad. I appreciate a well-done custom font, and plopping a whole bunch of notches onto standard block numbers is anything but well-done. Also, either the red jersey only features two-layer lettering on the front, or the Rangers really did stitch a wordmark with a red outline onto a red background.

And that helmet is clownish.
