I'm surprised nobody mentioned the black belts / shoes. That's probably the second worst part of this change IMO (the first being the batting helmet.)

I could live with their color scheme being Royal, Red, White, and Black. On some elements there is no Black and lots of Gray, on other elements there is no Gray and lots of Black. It doesn't make sense. It all seems pretty much slapped together.

I agree...something about this color palette doesn't work for me:

Well, alot on this board wanted "different" and "modern" ideas and designs coming out of sports these days...

...be careful whatcha wish for.

Yes, but "different" and "modern" don't always have to equate to "slipshod" and "stupid." Unfortunately, they do here.

For all the bird de lis haters I think the bird de lis isnt supposed to be a pelican and a fleur de lis I think its just a fleur de lis with a pelicans head. Thats what it looks like to me. Also the flair around the tip of the beak is just flair that fleur de lis have sometimes source I am from NOLA.

I love how the red hat has returned. Probably because they had so many unsold in the team store. When I was at a game in Arlington in '07 they literally had tons of the 'old' red hats sitting around for sale as throwbacks. The best part was that as they were considered 'vintage' they jacked the price of them to a ridiculous $35.

Bring back the Whale!

The Rangers should have changed their name to the Lone Star State Stars and featured a hat with one large star and a jersey with nothing but a number and one large star.

Then we could talk about how classy that would look.

Take a soma.

Well, I'm underwhelmed by this uniform change too, especially the two-toned batting helmet.

Seems like a good plan. In an effort to match the Cowboys and appeal to their fans, the Rangers now have 3 silvers/grays. :P

I don't mind the return of the red cap or the simplicity of the red and blue alts (even with identical wordmarks), but I'm not a fan of using all "Texas," the crazy combo helmet, the black drop shadows (especially on the names), the new font or the black belts/shoes (although I understand a lot of it comes with the red/blue indecision).

All that said, it's the Rangers, so I guess the risk-taking doesn't bother me as much as it would with a team with more tradition (Pirates now-dead red). Still, it seems like this could have been easily fixed/done better.

i just watched the video....the helmets are discusting looking. yes the mets have two tone but it looks a thousand times better then that. having texas on every jersey looks retarded too. the names are too big/long on the back. the red actually looks better then the blue jerseys imo. i think they should add a blue with red birm hat for the road.

Mets, Jets, Islanders

Still standing by my belief that "Dallas Chaparrals" would've been a cooler name than "Texas Rangers," but that train has left the station (since the ship can't sail; it's Dallas), unless someone wants to go to great lengths to purge George W. Bush's ownership and all of the mediocrity before/during/after that.

Agreement on the Chaparrals name, but that's water under the bridge now.

As far as the new uni set, I think it's fine - considering what they've got to work with... I do like the "Texas" on both home and road.

My only beef remains the ridiculously tame "T on ball" primary logo that they've stuck with.

I like the red jerseys, I almost made a red concept once...That never got off the ground.

(and the CCSLC breathes a collective sigh of relief.)
