LMU
Figured this deserved its own thread. Nick's identity was just released, so none of the media outlets have it posted yet, but it was announced during the local report on the Early Show. Here's the article on the wreck itself:3 killed in Fullerton car crashRIP Nick.EDIT: Announced by the LA Times: Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart killed in accident
CubsFanBudMan
Sad news. Just had a nice start against the A's earlier in the night and was listening to ESPN radio this morning talking about how much they miss K-Rod after the 4-run lead was blown. Puts things in perspective. Unbelievable, tragic.
Cujo
This is devastating news. What makes this even more sad is that the kid was just 22 with a bright future ahead of him.

patsox
This is truly awful news, especially for such a young kid. It just goes to show how people's lives really can change in the matter of an instant. I definitely feel for his friends, family, and teammates. What a tragic way to die. BB61
If you believe in such things, he's probably pitching for some different club of Angels now. Entirely too sad. With Paul Douglas managing and Bruce Bennett pitching.I remember Dennis mentioning him in the chatroom last night, that he had pitched six shutout innings. That's truly sad, tragic, and awful.I hope they string the guy up by his gonads.

jkrdevil
A shame. My coldolences goes out to the Adenhart family and the famlies of the other 2 people killed in the accident. As for the driver who caused the accident, I hope the person goes to jail for the rest of their life, especially if drinking was involves. The person killed 3 people and seriously injured another and to leave the scene on top of it well nothing more needs to be said.

I think that if you've been drinking AT ALL you should be hit with a DUI. If you kill someone, life in prison and don't rule out the death penalty for those who have more than one DUI. Maybe it's a bit harsh, but IMO it needs to be done. SoCal has a huge problem with drunk drivers, I ran into three DUI checkpoints last weekend in Orange County so they're trying to do what they can. I just hope that people will look at Adenhart as the face of what can happen if you drink and drive. It's pretty morbid but maybe his death can be a wake up call to people.BTW it looks like the A's Angels game is gonna be postponed tonight, which IMO is only proper. My condolences go out to his family along with all Angels fans. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) The guy who killed Malik Sealy of the T-Wolves, who was driving drunk the wrong way down a freeway, has been picked up for DUI since. He's clearly a danger. MadmanLA
This is truly surreal. He pitched just last night, and had a good game going no less. I first heard the news this morning on the Angels' flagship radio station. A caller, who identified himself as a paramedic stationed at UC Irvine Medical Center, made the announcement of Adenhart's death, but the hosts hung up on him thinking it was a prank. No one less than five minutes later, we had the local CBS news on in the other room, and they reported about the crash in Fullerton. However, at that point, they didn't report the victims' names until the investigation was completed and the victims' families were contacted. I just knew almost right away that one of the victims was Nick Adenhart.Like Bucfan mentioned, there have been a lots of car accidents lately here in the L.A. area, specifically hit-and-run fatalities. One example was a student at USC about a week or so who was ran down, and a friend who was with her, is still in critical condition.Rest in peace, and condolences to the Angels and the victims' families.
