tomás
I feel like they need to dissociate themselves from the Lakers. It's not helping that their logo looks just like the Lakers. IMO, a modernized version of this would be a good look for them. At least people might know what a 'clipper' is if they do.
JayJaxon
They do look like a generic Lakers team with that logo. I just think I completely new package is in order. Maybe even new colors too.

Billy B
I agree they need a new everything, but that logo certainly doesn't tell me what a clipper is. When I look at it, all I see is a sun and three triangles. I guess they are supposed to be clipper ships, but they are too abstract.
patsox
They could benefit from a logo that includes an actual depiction of a clipper ship, but it shouldn't be the one you posted. It might be slightly better than the pile of poo they use as a logo now, but that definitely doesn't mean they should use it.

gosioux76
This is one of those recurring subjects that I don't mind seeing regurgitated. The Clippers so obviously need a new brand, if not an entirely new identity, and it could be such a great opportunity for that franchise. I don't understand how they don't see it. OnWis97
I am amazed that they've used their current Lake knock-off for as long as they have. It helps cement them as Laker step child and has an annoying design flaw (different number of seams on left vs right, IIRC).I'm in the majority in believing that they need a new logo. The logo posted in the first post screams 1970s, but perhaps could be updated to be modern. I like the idea of simple vs. a very intricately detailed ship. All that said, I am in the minority in hoping they keep the colors and the essence of the uniform. There is nothing wrong with a not-to-flashy red and blue design. It's not even very prevalent in the NBA: Really just the new/old 76ers and the Pistons. (you could argue Atlanta and NJ, but they use other colors and don't look red, white and blue like the others). And with the Detroit and Philly uniform mishaps (teal and black respectively), the Clips are the only NBA franchise with a consistent history of that color scheme (they've had it over the last 25 years anyway). Sure...it's not like the hockey team was struggling until recently and the football team is struggling, frequently blacked out, and is in jeopardy of moving. On the subject of the logo...that Clippers logo is nice, albeit a tad dated and abstract to me.

For some stupid reason, and reasons I'm trying to figure out with Arte Moreno, he's got this love with LA and thinks that no one knows any other place but LA. If Green Bay can become famous so can some place other than LA. Hey didn't the ANAHEIM Angels win a World Series? I thought so.

I mean shoot...even the Carolina Hurricanes won a championship, and most folks couldn't even tell you where in Carolina they actually play! (It's Raleigh, by the way, for those who don't know.) Everybody in this country should know about Orange County by this point (The OC, Real Housewives of OC, Laguna Beach: the Real OC... All of which I hate with a burning passion of 1,000 fires). You could move the team to Anaheim and call them Orange County Clippers. It would work... whatever.Sadly nothing will ever happen location or brand-wise for the Clippers as long as Donald Sterling is alive.

I, speaking as one St. Louisan, couldn't care any less for the NBA. Read another quote from earlier, sounds like the Clippers won't win jack with their tightwad owner. If any city in the Midwest would enjoy an NBA team, Kansas City needs one again. Still trying to figure out how Oklahoma Ctiy got the 'Sonics'. the admiral
The Clippers could play in the Honda Center without changing their name from "the Los Angeles Clippers" if they felt so inclined. They've done it before. (This post is the equivalent to the passenger of a car grabbing the steering wheel as the precipice draws ever nearer. Close your eyes.)I, speaking as one St. Louisan, couldn't care any less for the NBA.Do you not like the highest level of basketball in the world, or do you just not like basketball? If you don't like basketball, that's cool, but I can't figure out how your location is germane to your interest in the NBA.

I have heard some rumor (just an idea, maybe) concerning the Clippers moving to St. Louis. I think it was posted on these boards. That said, Donald Sterling is a filthy rich dirtbag who put the team in L.A. to make some dough and won't move the team to Anahiem because it costs him something. Knowing him, I don't take the Clippers-to-St.-Louis rumor too seriously. If you ask me, in a perfect world they would have moved to OKC but we all know otherwise. I would actually be applauding Clay Bennett if he managed to buy and move the Clips.

That situation is very different from picking up the whole organization and moving.Second, nope not going to bite this time
hawk36
Yes. The logo, the colors, the nautical flags spelling Clippers on the pants... it's such a no brainer, it's amazing they can't see it.
