Brave-Bird 08 Posted September 19, 2009 Share Posted September 19, 2009 Hey guys, I know we talk about college and pro teams uniforms a lot. but what about high school??!I've just started writing for an online sports magazine that covers d1 prospects...and in turn, i get to go to the biggest high school games Georgia has to offer.one part of my job is to take pictures of course...and the result, is...well, pictures that I'm sure can be relayed by CCSLC'ers! High school uniforms are great because they range from the cheepest looking stuff possible to really sharp, modern, uniforms.Tonight I covered the matchup between north Atlanta (Gwinnett) powerhouses North Gwinnett and Norcross. One thing that stood out was their uniforms!Here is a look at their uniforms. The template is identical to the one Mizzou, Wake, etc use. However, I think this template looks great in these colors. Also, their helmet logo is the same style as the 49'ers but with an N and a G. Really, NG is infamous for having the nicest uniforms in the land.**btw...words cannot describe how HUGE #70 is!The Norcross Blue Devils, who are known for having one of America's most powerful basketball programs (have made multiple appearances on espn) have some pretty good gridiron threads to boot.I'm thinking, since I'm not doing concepts anymore, that I fun way to contribute would be to show off all of the pictures I bring in during my coverage this season... I'll even be doing basketball.I thought it would be a cool idea to start a thread where people post uniforms and logos we usually never ever see. It's hard to see in most of the pictures, but I'm the center, 55. And we're in black and gold; Personally, I like the black jerseys better but don't have any pictures of those yet. Maldonado Posted September 19, 2009 Share Posted September 19, 2009 My old high school, Safford Bulldogs (Class 3A) sports Nike uniforms similar to Arizona with no bra strap, block letters and numbers.Since '99 the varisty has had uniforms similar to Florida, New York Jets and now Arizona. Couldn't find many good pics from outside sources, so hopefully my friend won't mind me using his Facebook pics. High School has worn silver pants to go with their black helmets and black or white jerseys. They purchased black pants in the offseason, but wore the silver pants for their season opener. But after an upset loss to open the season ...... the black pants made their debut in the home opener ...... and then were worn for road game number two ...... and now probably will be worn the rest of the season since they are 0-1 in the silver pants but, as of Friday, 3-0 in the black pants ...(Photos courtesy ripontigerfootball.com.) I really don't understand why schools are so lazy as to not design their own logos. I can understand taking a templated uniform, but at least come-up with your own logo to go with. But I can see the logic in it. It's cheaper in the end, easier to get fan colors/logos, and actually looks professional.If you notice, most the HSs that do their own, look really- really amateur. crashcarson15 Posted September 21, 2009 Share Posted September 21, 2009 2009 Fishers Tigers uniform match-ups (the school I'll hopefully be transferring to next year... but that's another story...Week 1 at Noblesville:The Tigers wear their sharp road jerseys while the Millers wear a nice set... except for the pants striping...And to counter you Jake, here's the Fishers student section on the road.Week 2 vs Southeastern:The Tigers look sharp in the biggest rivalry in Central Indiana, while the Royals look alright...After 3 failed attempts, the Tigers finally conquer the Royals in the 4th tryWeek 3 at Westfield:My neighbor sets up for the punt return against the Shamrocks... in gold...Week 4 at Avon:The Tigers would win this game, going up against the Orioles in jerseys that well... don't match up...Week 5 vs Harrison:Some crappy jerseys for the Raiders, navy side panel with navy and white stripes down the sides of the pants... the team was worse though.
