2010 Fiesta Bowl unis

Still MIGHTY

Recommended Posts

I'm in Phoenix for the game and I was reading the Arizona Republic this morning. They had a picture from the TCU press conference and the TCU quarterback was wearing the Pro Combat jersey.

I'm stoked to see these babies in person. They are so damn beautiful. (Unlike the monochrome red monstrosities I'm watching at the Cardinals game  ) Definitely going to try and get some TCU merch tomorrow.

Now to speculate on Boise... The white on orange from their first Fiesta Bowl triumph? White on white? White on blue?

I like Boise in orange pants. It breaks one of my personal football uniforms rules because it creates an unbalanced uniform, but it's unique to football, and has a history with the Broncos in the Fiesta Bowl. So they've taken a look and have made it their own. That, I can get behind even if it is in my opinion aesthetically wrong.

I, for one, am unenthused by the TCU uniforms. Glitter is something best confined to high school girls, and while I acknowledge the reference to horned toads' ability to shed blood through their tear ducts with the red helmet striping, red is not one of TCU's colors.

Make it two. There are elements of the uniform that are cool but overall it looks like any other "modern" uniform. The helmets aren't bad and I've seen worse jerseys but when it's all said and done, it's just a pretty boring look. Nothing special at all. It needs more contrast.

Boise on the other hand looks pretty good.

Agreed. I don't care for the TCU Pro Combat unis. The pants in particular look like something an 80s hair band would wear.

I also don't care for Boise's uniforms in general, and the orange pants aren't particularly good. I do like the nod to their win in the famous Fiesta Bowl where they upset Oklahoma.

If TCU would ditch the red stripes for a purple one, it'd he perfect. Still pretty darn good though nonetheless.
