Don't know if this was mentioned yet -- couldn't find it in my search.

The New Orleans Hornets are wearing special Mardi Gras jerseys tonight against the Sixers. They're... odd... purple in the front, green in the back. "NOLA" across the chest.

Pics on the Hornets Home Page.

Bizzare.

It screams NBA and they're about the only league that can get away with wacky jersey's. But these are actually really nice. Maybe they can adopt these full time for alternates.

Nobody is sitting in the upper deck. Remind me why this team moved back.

It's the second to last weekend of Mardi Gras. Either you are at a parade getting :censored:faced or you're at home avoiding tourist crowded streets (and probably getting :censored:faced).

Who'd want to brave the traffic for upper bowl tickets?

Mardi Gras is two weeks?

Mardi Gras DAY is a week from Tuesday. The carnival season last two weeks. It's A Friday night, the city is focused on the Saints right now and Chris Paul is out for a while. The team is averaging over 14,000 a game which is at 86% capacity for the season....

Actually Carnival Season starts January 6th. Thats when the Phunny Phorty Phellows take the ceremonial ride down the St. Charles Street car line. With Mardi Gras, the Saints, the crappy weather we had yesterday, and Chris Paul being out it has been rough for the Hornets. They have pretty much been pushed back to the back burner. Of course traffic completely sucks ass in the CBD with the parades. You better be on the side you want to be on/or where you are wanting to go by 5 pm or you aren't going without driving an hour out of the way.
