BBTV
Mardi Gras is two weeks?Mardi Gras DAY is a week from Tuesday. The carnival season last two weeks. It's A Friday night, the city is focused on the Saints right now and Chris Paul is out for a while. The team is averaging over 14,000 a game which is at 86% capacity for the season....% Capacity is the most useless stat when it comes to attendance (unless it's 100%.) I could have a 10-seat arena, and be sold to 90% capacity, and puff out my chest about it, but I've only got 9 paying customers. Thats when the Phunny Phorty Phellows take the ceremonial ride down the St. Charles Street car line. With Mardi Gras, the Saints, the crappy weather we had yesterday, and Chris Paul being out it has been rough for the Hornets. They have pretty much been pushed back to the back burner. Of course traffic completely sucks ass in the CBD with the parades. You better be on the side you want to be on/or where you are wanting to go by 5 pm or you aren't going without driving an hour out of the way.hey i like it at least they catch the mardi gras spirit
The_Admiral
Why aren't they wearing purple/green/yellow year-round instead of tired old light/dark blue? I mean, not this garish design, of course, but you'd think that a New Orleans-inspired design would use New Orleans colors, rather than trying to bring back the dated splendor of the Charlotte Hornets. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

hawk36
I love them. Finally! A pro team that gets (1) that it's ok to be unique and (2) that it's great to have that uniqueness tie in to the city/region where you play. Bravo. CubsFanBudMan
I don't mind them at all, especially for New Orleans. (The Raptors black/purple split never did either.) The Hornets should just "green up" their teal (or creole blue) a little bit and they might have something that echoes the old Charlotte look while still being uniquely New Orleans. If nothing else, they found a way to use these colors and not look like the Jazz. Glad I got to see these in action on TNT.

cheo25
Um, I think I'm going to puke up some pizza. That's an ugly uniform. It beats the hell out of teal. If the Hornets adopted this uniform full time (or at least the Mardi Gras colors, a la the Jazz in the '70s), I'd be inclined to root for them as a Louisiana native (at least as much as someone who's stopped following the NBA could root for them). But not until they drop the teal completely.

goforbroke
My favorite thing about this is the gold side-panels. Much cooler than the overuse of white they currently have.I would like to see a variation of this using the creole teal instead of green. In other words.. using their real colors. Its a very interesting idea. We've seen two-tone with the Raptors and that worked pretty well IMO.
