FamousAtticus
i hate that magic "boston-wannabe" floor. and the new logo really sucks. It's not a "Boston-wannabe" court, they've had the same court/floor since 1989. Orlando's floor is much lighter(in person) than Boston's Boston Garden & TD Bank"whatever" Garden court, which is a darker finish. Just sayin'.As for the logo...what can you really ask for? Maybe a Magician pulling a rabbit out of a hat, now that would really suck. I think the new logo, is just "okay". My favorite is still the original, I wish they could have just updated that one. jhans203
Article from NBA.com regarding this year's new looks, you can vote for your favorite as wellhttp://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2010/08/26/nba-where-fashion-happens/?ls=iref:nbahpt1FFS, Golden State has 30% of the vote. WTF.Wow! Really? How?
The_Admiral
Why doesn't the baseline wordmark look anything like the rest of the Magic's lettering, which the new logo would indicate is supposed to be standardized? ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
-Akronite-
Personally, I really like what Golden State has done and I find the other looks to be downgrades or just too status-quo for me to even care.I like the use of the logo on the jersey and I love the design on the shorts. The colors and new logo go back to the old days without oversimplifying matters (CAVS). The Jazz new jerseys are probably second, but are also plain. The T'Wolves should've kept the green and the Clippers found a way to change their jerseys while still blending in with the rest of the NBA. hawk36
Exactly! And any true NBA fan wouldn't think of Jazz music every time they heard the phrase "Utah Jazz" anymore either. The "Jazz" have become more of a style of basketball rather than a type of music! What's funny is when I did work for the Jazz back in the mid 90s, our design group pitched reintroducing the jazz note as a design element in marketing material to the team. In our meetings what you said above was exactly what they told us... that Jazz was a type of playing style and had nothing to do with the music. Thus the note was not used. Guess the new people in charge have reconsidered that stance. We were just 15 years too early. Design Hovie Studios

You?ll still never see any Jazz Music related artwork on the team?s site, merchandise, or really anything they produce!
IceCap
The whole note thing doesn't bother me. It's not my preference, but it works well enough. My problem is the fact that they're clinging to a primary logo that was designed for a set with a completely different aesthetic. It turns an underwhelming if consistently ok look into a mismatch of eras. Delux247
If my counting (as well as this) is correct, the NBA now has 6 different collar types:- traditional V: Nuggets (slightly different), Rockets (slightly different), Grizzlies, Nets, Knicks, Thunder, Spurs, Jazz, & Wizards- curved V/scoop: Hawks, T'Wolves, Hornets, Sixers, & Kings- brace bracket: Warriors, Pacers, Bucks (slightly different), Magic, & Suns- Nike wishbone: Mavericks, Pistons, Lakers, Heat, & Raptors- traditional scoop: Celtics, Bulls, Cavs, & Blazers- notch: Bobcats & Clippers

I?m not too sure it?s going to grow on me either.I love the two tone. But, I am unsure of the execution. I would have left the key unpainted and maybe just had the Pro lane panels green? I hate the italic Optima though.
The_Admiral
Why wouldn't you paint the part of the court nicknamed "the paint"? ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

FamousAtticus
Why wouldn't you paint the part of the court nicknamed "the paint"?If only teams like the Bobcats, Wizards, Raptors, Spurs, Blazers, Suns, Thunder, Rockets and Cavs would understand this. I can't stand when teams don't paint "the paint" on their court's.
The_Admiral
I begrudgingly tolerate the Spurs doing it because not painting the paint is boring and annoying, just like the Spurs are, but silver or grey there would look pretty rad. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
SmoothieX
Another hater of unpainted paints. I thought Cleveland and Houston had beautiful courts before they went minimalist. At least the Cavs will have painted paint this year, but I wish they'd paint the baselines too. ESTONES6
The funny thing about the "not painting the paint" line... is that the paint was slang for the key... because teams just happened to paint that area of the court.
