Well outside of Daytona and Talladega she'll need to learn a hell of a lot more about Stock Car Racing. If she gets with a good team, or Dale Jr. Starts bringing is stuff to Sprint, she'll be okay I think.

The talent is obviously there.

Nashville isn't going to have any races next year, so no repeats of this invocation.

First of all, I'm not sure why that is getting so much pub when he's done it before and those prayers have gotten zero pub. Secondly, the fact that Nashville is losing it's races is actually a good thing. It was nothing more than a boring concrete cookie cutter track, that I'm trying to figure out why the Nationwide Series was going there twice a year instead of to a short track somewhere. Let's hope that out of this, that track gets mothballed and they go back to the Nashville short track and some other short tracks around the country. Yet, my gut tells me to look for a second race at Kentucky, maybe a second race at Las Vegas to replace Montreal which we all know is out the door after this year, and possibly the other race would go to Talladega, which I'd have no problem with whatsoever. That's just what my gut tells me. Throw in the fact that this is the second or third track that Dover Motorsports has closed and you sit there and wonder how in the blankety-blank is Dover running it's own track? I understand the Cup Series sell, though not so much, but if you can't figure out how to make multiple race tracks work, then you need to change management. Especially if you're a race track company.

I'm not shocked by Carl staying. If he decided to go, his title hopes would've sunk like Jr's racing career. And if he'd gone to Gibbs there's no guarentee he'd do well. Again ask Jr. The thing is, he is now a strong contender for the title, and is in an organization where he's #1 and should be a strong contender for years to come. But this is his best opportunity to win a title and he can't let it get away.

The problem is that you assume JR is on the same level as Carl, and that's just not the case...

He's well, WELL below that level...

NSH was close for the teams to go to in terms of travel.

You are correct in that Dover Motorsports closed both Memphis and Gateway (St. Louis), but Gateway should have been given a Cup race.

Dover stays in the mix with their poor attendance because of its Mid-Atlantic location and there is a hotel/casino on property to supplement their loses on NASCAR via their horse racing and casino under a separate company.

I think with Carl staying at Roush-Fenway it really is going to open up things for some other free agent drivers. Bowyer in my opinion will stay with Childress, Montoya even though he may be reluctant to do it will stay with Ganassi, That basically leaves Brian Vickers as the guy who wants to run full time. Mark Martin only wants a partial schedule so he could go anywhere maybe a split with Danica at Stewart-Hass as Danica may run some cup races for them next year. Vickers is really interesting, he's got the talent if he's in the right stuff he's good to go. Could Gibbs look to go to a fourth car assuming they get sponsorship or do they give Logano the boot down to the Nationwide series for a few years and give Vickers the reigns of the 20 car. I think when its said and done Vickers is now the most interesting free agent

Kurt Busch essentially just called Jimmie Johnson a whinny bitch.

It takes a whiner to know what a whiner is, and if anyone has whining down to a science that would be Kurt Busch.

BK earns respect in my books for going out there and running hard on a track like Pocono with a broke ankle. It's a really tough track and to be driving hurt is one thing to win hurt is another and he showed us all he can run well and win at the cup level not just in fuel millage or a restrictor plate track with a last lap pass but normally also. Also on the Jimmie and Kurt fiasco, I like it, the sport needs to have some good "rivalries" and things to watch the rest of the season, just another one along with Kyle and Harvick which i personally don't think is finished

I always thought one Pocono race was 500 and the other was a 400.

Either way, I agree I wish Pocono could only have one race. Problem lies is that Pocono is one ofthe last independently owned tracks, seperate from ISC and SMI. The only way a race is lost is if someone buys the Raceway.

BK2 winning this past Sunday was the shortest fully run Pennsylvania 500 since 1997. It was 4 shortest in the history of this race.

It's a great track concept, but being the size of Talladega, no way does it need 200 laps.

I kind of agree with Pocono shortening the races, but what I think should happen is they need to spread the two races out, say put one in April and leave the other in August and shorten the first one to 300 miles and the second to 400 miles, or heck make them both 300 miles. I love the track because it's unique in so many ways, what kills the track and the fun of the track is that the dates are only 8 weeks apart and that's 1,000 miles that people get sick of. If you put Bristol, Daytona, or whatever only 8 weeks apart, people would get sick of those tracks too. By the time speedweeks is over, people start to hate Daytona and want to see a new track. I think Michigan suffers the same fate too. I think one race should be in May at Michigan and the second one, you could throw in the the chase, say instead of Texas.

New Hampshire kinda suffers the same fate, July and September. I mean the weather in the Northeast is kinda unpredictable from March, April and same goes with October-November. So maybe that's why Pocono has the two dates so close together on the calender, also people vacation in that area during that time of the Summer so that could be another reason.

I still think they only need one race.

Anyways it's the final road course race of the year Watkins Glen. Who doesn't like the amount of first time winners this season, so it wouldn't surprise me to see Marcos Ambrose get his first Sprint Cup win.

Nope. Ambrose will finish around 20th. I just don't see him winning a race... ever. He's too nice of a guy, and lacks that killer instinct. He had his chance last year at Infineon and he blew it, and he'll never get another shot again. It's not like it was 10 or so years ago when someone with a road racing background had a legitimate shot to win. He's got no advantage whatsoever. When you have a legitimate 10-20 guys who run well at a road course, I see Ambrose at the back end of that group. Jr has a better shot at Watkins Glen than does Ambrose, and Jr has not shot because he's just like Ambrose, no killer instinct at all. If you pay attention to the past couple of races, the winner will be a guy you never thought about. No one thought about Paul Menard at Indy, and I know absolutely no one even gave an inkling of a thought to Kesolowski winning last week. I figure this weeks winner will probably be someone like Jamie Mac or Jeff Burton, because it's out of left field and I get the feeling that going into the Chase, the winners will be out of left field because people will be taking chances.
