NHL OFFSEASON - 2011

Other fun translations from that link:

KHL - Happenings in the second best league of the world.

NHL - All the elite overseas competition

I'll take the Swedish Elite League as the second best in the World.

Also I think Laich would have gotten more on the open market, but that's because someone would over pay for 20 and 20. Boudreau knows Laich and he fits the Caps system, so I am not overly surprised he re-signed.

Hall of Fame inductees have been named. Sad to see Pat Burns not get in, but I agree with the Players.

Joe Nieuwendyk

Doug Gilmour

Ed Belfour

Mark Howe - Just imagine if he played his entire career in the NHL.

More d-men ink up.

Joni Pitkanen 3 year, 4.5 mil

Roman Hamrlik 1 year, not sure?

Should your squad be in need of impact on D, it will likely have to come via trade. Free agency is looking more and more empty every hour.

Language aside, I should consider moving to Montreal, since apparently there is no actual crime there so long as the Canadiens aren't successful in the postseason.

This is why Montreal sucks.

Yes, of course.

So completely happy about the Laich signing. I thought he was a goner as well.

They should go :censored: themselves. Aren't there actual crimes that they can be investigating in Montreal?

Not really.

Anyway, nothing will happen. The SPVM has to follow up since there were complaints about the Chara-Pacioretty incident. It's just a standard procedure. Several Habs players already met with the inspectors. They only need to meet with Chara to close the file.

And this is why Quebec should not get a hockey team.

Why do people always trot this line out when police write a parking ticket or Congress votes on a name of a post office or some other situation? The two are not mutually exclusive. The entirety of the Montreal police force would not be working round the clock on this one case. You guys and your hyperbole.

Having said all that, what a bunch of idiots. If the victim doesn't want to press charges, why bother? There's no greater good here to keep pursuing this case absent the victim. All it does is bring negative attention to your police force and, by association, the city and the residents.

Canucks trade Christian Ehrhoff's rights to the Islanders for a 4th round pick in 2012.

Good move by Gillis picking up what is likely to be an upper 4th round pick that can possibly be used in a later trade at the deadline.

Also I'd would expect Garth Snow to offer quite a bit of money, 5.5-6 million, to Ehrhoff.

In other news, Pierre McGuire will be leaving TSN's NHL game coverage and moves to Versus and NBC full-time.

Hmm... I didn't think the Flyers had the 4 draft picks necessary to sign Stamkos, but apparently I was wrong.
