GFB
Arsenal did not look sharp today despite having the better of the chances. There were moments in that game where I wanted to strangle Aaron Ramsey.

Not the ideal way for the Sky Blues to celebrate 25 years since a famous FA Cup triumph! What a fall for Portsmouth. One of the hardest things to achieve is promotion to the Premier League. Newcastle did it after one year, and West Ham could do it this year. But Portsmouth and to a lesser extent Middlesbrough haven't had nearly enough luck. Now for Portsmouth it's League One. Wow. Wow.**Biased post alert**It's not been bad luck with Portsmouth, it's been godawful management, principally from the owners of the club, but in other areas as well. Southampton faced pretty much the same situation in fairness, and sometimes a massive fall from grace can do a team the world of good. Norwich are a great example to teams falling from grace. Portsmouth probably spent a decade living above their means, now they are suffering the consequences. How well they recover depends on how good the infrastructure of the club turns out to be. Do they have good young players they can fall back on? Do they have good coaching? Do they have committed investment and ownership? Those are big questions right now for Portsmouth. 2011/12 WFL Champions

Do you think they'll have a Wimbledon type story, or was that just in a league of it's own? JETS|PACK|JAYS|NUFC|BAMA|BOMBERS|RAPS|ORANJE|

Do you think they'll have a Wimbledon type story, or was that just in a league of it's own?Honestly, and again I am talking from a very particular point of view here, Portsmouth were punching above their weight in the Premier League. I think historically, they are a bottom half of the championship, top of league 1 type club, at least in the last 50 years. Every now and again a short spell in the top division, but other than that not so much. I think in the end, once they have found their level again, in terms of investment and expectation, they will be fine. They could find a good investor prepared to spend time and money helping the club into a top half of the championship, bottom half of the Premier League type club, but they don't have much more potential than that, over a consistent period of time. Its worth pointing out that save another 10 point deduction for re-entering administration, Portsmouth would be safe this season. The club have been royally messed over by the owners over a long period of time, and are perhaps unfortunate that their financial troubles have coincided with a period when good investors are being more careful with their money. 2011/12 WFL Champions
rams80
Saying Pompey had crappy ownership is a bit of an understatement. Their "owner" a couple of years ago was a fictional person constructed by several shady gentlemen of ill-repute; a charade that would fall apart under even the slightest scrutiny and GOOD LORD EVEN THE NHL DOES A BETTER JOB AT DUE DILIGENCE ON INVESTIGATING WOULD BE OWNERS THAN ENGLISH FOOTBALL. WHAT GIVES?! DO PREMIER LEAGUE AND FOOTBALL LEAGUE JUST START DROOLING AND HAVE THEIR EYES GLAZE OVER WHEN THEY SEE A FOREIGN NAME ON THE OWNERSHIP APPLICATION?! Don
La Liga looks to be out of Barcas reach with the 2-1 loss to Madrid. Need to play much better than that to advance in the Champions League too. crashcarson15
City essentially back in the drivers' seat after that Manchester United slip-up. Ahead on GD means that if they win out, the title should be theirs. At the very least, they'd have to be 7 goals up with 2 to play if they beat Wolves and United. Saintsfan
I don't think I am exagerating by saying it's the biggest single league match in England since Arsenal beat Liverpoll 2-0, needing to win 2-0, at Anfield to take the title, 23 years ago, with a last minute goal. Hell, 9 times out of 10 Man U is the team that salvages a point (or more) from certain defeat. Odd time at Old Trafford.Anyways, City beat Wolves 2-0 to set up the epic clash next Monday.
