New Helmets in the NFL

Bringing this one back from the grave - in watching the Week 1 action I've noticed that several quarterbacks have switched from what they wore last year to Schutt Air XP Elite models like what Aaron Rodgers wore after coming back from his concussion last year. Those that I saw were:

Matt Ryan (wore a Riddell VSR-4 last year)

Tom Brady (long-timre Riddell VSR-4 user)

Mark Sanchez (also wore a Riddell VSR-4)

Colt McCoy (wore a Schutt Air Advantage last year)

Sorry, no photos - I'll try to add some later.

Steven Jackson wore the new Rawlings helmet... and now he's hurt. Sure, he hurt his quad, but WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU?

Also, does anyone miss Gary Anderson's gray single-bar facemask?

I found this on the Simpson helmet: http://theconcussionblog.com/2011/08/24/simpson-speaks-and-we-see/

I'm very interested on learning more about the helmet.

EDIT: Here is a link to the owner of Simpson talking about the helmet with an Indianapolis news station.

I personally play semi-pro football and wear a Xenith because of past issues with concussions and have found it to be the best helmet that I have ever tried. But I am eager to see how the Simpson lid compares to the Riddell Revolution, Revo Speed, & 360, the Xenith X1 & X2, Rawlings helmet and the new generation of Schutts.

Just a correction: I believe the helmet is made by Impact Racing, which is owned by Bill Simpson.

(Bill) Simpson left Simpson Racing following the Dale Earnhardt Sr. crash, around the controversy that the seatbelt (made by Simpson) failed during the accident. He shortly afterwards formed Impact Racing.

You're right. I don't follow racing, just found the links lol. Thanks for pointing it out.

Now this is one of the silliest things I have ever read on these boards. The only thing it tells you is that he hurt his leg outrunning every Eagle to the endzone. Has absolutely nothing to do with what he is wearing, be it helmets, shoulder pads, uniforms, protective apparel, cleats and/or medical tape.

Psst... it was a joke.
