Ever been hit in the head? Even with a helmet/mask on, it hurts like hell for a bit. I don't blame him a bit for having a reaction. Did you really expect him to just stay standing as if nothing had happened? Shouldn't everyone do that on every check, then?

I don't doubt that it hurt, my problem is with hurling equipment on impact, doing a pirouette, playing dead until the game misconduct was announced, and milking the hit on and off for three days. It was poor form.

You don't throw an elbow at a goalie's anyone's head. Overreaction or no, the punishment fit the crime.

Fixed.

True. Just slam their head into the glass.

Is there a series that feels any less relevant than Florida/New Jersey, for more reasons than the shoddy fan bases?

I mean, neither team has any chance of winning the Cup this year, so it feels, to me, like a total filler series. To compare it to something I said back in January, it feels like the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL playoffs - a team (or teams) that is just there, no chance of doing anything once they get there.

MIKE SMITH NEWSWIRE:

good to go for the morning skate

coaches said he was fine

no ruling on Shaw yet

downgraded to game-time decision.

This is so ridiculous.

Well, we know what the game-time decision was! Haha.

You should learn to enjoy things. This is a good game in a good playoff year.

Goal for the Devils disallowed for goaltender interference; rightly, I think.

The refs are totally screwing the Devils tonight

Haven't seen a frame of video on this, but I know who's getting my vote here.

Im 9 rows up from the goal it was bs

Yeah, Hanzal and Korpikoski were deemed out. Shaw really sent some reverberations throughout the Coyotes line-up :P

To me, it had me thinking of that Carolina/New Jersey series from a couple years ago, where the series was pretty much forgotten about by the TV networks, yet was likely the most entertaining and exciting series of all the first round matchups.

On my HD TV with replays, it looked like a good call from the ref who was about ten feet away.

It's not that, I just mean that, for a game that isn't on the NBC networks, but NHLN, it's not one I am so quick to fire up on the internet compared to, say, the Bruins/Caps games that I've had on the internet opposite a couple Rangers and Pens games. When my team isn't in the playoff field, entertainment is the only thing I can try and hang my hat on in the playoffs. (Un)Fortunately, I have a lot of experience in that department.

That same series also had Jussi Jokinen scoring the game-winning goal with 0.2 seconds in regulation.

Marian Hossa just got LIT UP by Raffi Torres. Trying to decide on its cleanliness. Elbow down, kinda leaves his feet.

Stretcher coming out now. Jeez.

I could see a suspension coming just because of the injury.
