Since this has to do with the Olympics, it has to go here.

A newspaper in Australia is in hot water for rebranding the two Koreas as "Naughty" and "Nice". My thoughts: There is just soo much butthurt in our society. I am personally not offended by it, in fact, I got a good chuckle out of it. Think about it: On a metaphorical scale, North Korea is like that dysfunctional twin brother that always seems to get into trouble with lots of people...... and I think I may get some flak for that, too.

That's some funny stuff right there. I appreciate Aussie's sense of humor. However, unless I missed the details within the article, it didn't mention who or what the Australian paper is in hot water with, so the title of this post is misleading.

Yeah, who exactly was offended by that? The North Koreans? And more importantly why would they think the rest of the world would give a :censored: what they think after it was revealed the pile of horse pucky they were feeding their citizens about how the rest of us were "in awe" of their performances.

North Koreans will never see that paper. North Korea has won every medal so far according to their news sources!

Even the sports they don't field athletes in?

Of course. The power and prestige of great supreme leader Kim-Jong Un gives those invisible athletes the courage and fortitude needed to win the gold from the capitalist oppressors from the US and the evil Republic of Korea. In other news several individuals who were formerly members of the sporting establishment who were found to be disloyal are being sent to serve a life of hard labor in the work camps.

Its not quite that bad. They're not going to print 1+1=3, but they will overhype certain aspects of how the North Korean team is viewed and give credit to people who don't deserve any.

The DPRK athletes' successes at the London Olympics have come under spotlight of world's media. Among the athletes is Om Yun Chol, who won gold medal in the men's 56 kg category of weightlifting.

"Black Horse" Om from group B overpowered group A rivals by applying "group-change tactics".

After the match, he told foreign reporters that the secret is nothing but the loving care of leader Kim Jong Il and the dear respected Kim Jong Un.

Om belongs to the Amnokgang Sports Team.

The athletes and coaches of the team and other people in the DPRK are now rejoicing over his good job. They were unanimous in saying that his success showed the faith, grit and the mettle of the Korean army and people who are building a thriving country under the leadership of the dear respected Kim Jong Un.

Certainly not a free press by any means, but some real news does get out. Just not any news that may make North Korea look bad.

Hard for any bad news to get out when the athletes who don't do well are branded disloyal and sent to hard labor camps as soon as they arrive back home. Why they would go back knowing that waits for them boggles the mind. But then cult members will do anything for their leader so maybe it shouldn't surprise me.

You think that's bad? There are videos of NK propaganda after the 2010 World Cup where the media claimed North Korea had won the tournament and had a subtitled video of Cristiano Ronaldo claiming that since he's already played for Manchester United and Real Madrid, the next logical step would be to play for a North Korean club.

Mighty Ducks of Anaheim (CHL - 2018 Orr Cup Champions) Chicago Rivermen (UBA/WBL - 2014, 2015, 2017 Intercontinental Cup Champions)

King's Own Hexham FC (BIP - 2022 Saint's Cup Champions) Portland Explorers (EFL - Elite Bowl XIX Champions) Real San Diego (UPL) Red Bull Seattle (ULL - 2018, 2019, 2020 Gait Cup Champions) Vancouver Huskies (CL)

Pretty sure those are fake. They did, after all, actually admit to losing to Brazil. But, the Korean people were "optimistic based on their performance against one of the world's greatest teams." :P

They're still funny as hell, though, since they do seem like the kind of thing North Korean state media would say. Remember, Dear Leader Kim Jong-Il sent tactical advice to the North Korean coach on cell phones invisible to the human eye and he regularly shot several holes in one per round of golf!
