BrySmalls Posted February 28, 2013 Share Posted February 28, 2013 What the hell has happened to Ovie he appeared to be on his way to being one of the best now he looks like a joke.A whole variety of things have happened:- He's gotten paid (large contract in 2008)- He's gotten laid (well, engaged to Maria Kirilenko)- He had it made (prolific scorer and captured awards/accolades up until 2010)However, he's also experienced:- Four coaching changes at the NHL level (Hanlon, Boudreau, Hunter, and Oates)- He hasn't elevated his game to the next level, i.e. doesn't play defense, didn't expand his offensive skill set, still cherry picks, etc.- A GM who has made more ill-advised moves than Congress!! They could potentially get two top 10 picks who could turn the franchise around. I like O'Reilly, but he's not worth the money Calgary offered him.
