It's kinda funny how a Bowling Green win costs them about $600k because of the BCS money that would've been shared with all MAC schools.

They even said that a BG win would cost the whole conference nearly $8 million. Ouch.

The win may also cost them their coach as the Wake Forest AD is in Detroit tonight after being in Muncie, IN yesterday to interview the Ball State HC,

To reiterate.

And Sparty wonders why everyone in the conference hates them.

Talk to me when you've reeled off 24 straight - period. B) Seriously though, with the lack of respect you SEC fans have for the Big Ten, can you really use to wins against B1G teams as an example of how good you are? Seems like a contradiction to me. If the Big Ten sucks as bad as you guys claim it does, how can beating a Big Ten team mean...well...anything? How is a win over say Iowa any bigger than a win over Syracuse?

Using typical SEC fan logic, what you just said was the equivalent of saying "we have a long home winning streak and we beat UConn and San Jose State." Not the most impressive resume, right?

First off, I think 24 straight is impressive- no matter what conference you play in and, believe it or not, I am all for OSU making it into the NCG no matter the results of the SECCG and the ability of the polls to shift. Giving the Big 10 hell is just fun because I am not a fan of the style of football played in the conference...everything just seems...slower and antiquated? WIth that said, I have tremendous pride in beating Michigan and Nebraska the past 2 years because of what they once were; to a program with our history- those are accomplishments in any year.

A win over Iowa is 10x the win over Syracuse, for the record. Now *you* are insulting the Big 10.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was doing. Obviously, you missed the point I was trying to make. What I was saying is that from the SEC fan perspective, a win over a lowly Big 10 team is no better than a win over a lowly ACC team like Syracuse because the Big 10 is so awful and all. What I think is this - the top couple teams in the SEC usually are better than their Big Ten counterparts. After that, I believe there is no difference between the two conferences. In other words, Kentucky, Miss. State, Ole Miss, etc. would suck every bit as much in the Big Ten as they do in the SEC. Then again, freaking Missouri rolled into the mighty SEC and made the SEC CG in their second season. Other than Alabama, maybe the SEC isn't as great as people think it is. Who knows? My point is simply that, top to bottom, I don't think the SEC is really any better than the other "power conferences." The SEC is pretty top heavy.

With regard to Big Ten football being "slower and antiquated", I'm not entirely sure what that means. If you're referring to the types of offense Big Ten teams run, I'm pretty sure that Ohio State, Indiana, Northwestern, Illinois, Michigan and (I think) Michigan State all run some variation of the spread or read option. But I'm not a former football player like you are so I can't be entirely sure.

Yeah, I'd imagine a second tier program like South Carolina would consider wins over what used to be Michigan and Nebraska to be a pretty big deal. Anyway, I think we'd both agree that, provided they both win tomorrow, Auburn passing Ohio State in the BCS would be some serious bull- :censored:.

This could just be because the PAC 12 is so heavily built on big plays and speed, but I've always found the B1G to be a bit boring on the surface. It doesn't mean that it's not a great conference because it takes a bit more of an eye to realize how big some of these guys are and how truly impressive size and strength is, but constant dive plays up the middle can get a bit monotonous. And it's even more frustrating when it works vs the PAC 12's usually smaller defensive fronts.

I mainly don't like the B1G because there have been quite a few fans of B1G teams I've met that haven't represented their conference very well. Wisconsin fans were downright rude when we played them earlier this season. Taking a few ribs is fine, but personally attacking the fans of other teams really has no place when it comes to simply viewing sports.

My room mate is from Minneapolis and is a big U of Minnesota fan though, so I've found at least one team I really do enjoy watching in the B1G.

To be honest, I'm kinda happy NIU didn't make a BCS game. And I'm not saying that because I'm a jealous U of I fan, they would've been embarrassed if they made it. They barely beat Iowa in Iowa City. Yeah, that's a good win, but Wisconsin and MSU did the same thing. Northern barely beat Eastern Illinois on their home field and you could make the case that EIU is a better football team. We'll see how FCS playoffs go, but Eastern only lost by 4 on the road and they have an NFL quarterback leading their team.

As a fan of a MAC school I'm angry with Bowling Green right now. I wanted another MAC BCS team.

That and Bowling Green in general is just yucky. I want the conference championship they won last night.

USC is really going all out to justify hiring a .500 coach in conference games. Sarsikian is in Indy on Gameday, has been on nearly every national radio show, was on the NFL Network ncaa podcast and more. Meanwhile, he doesn't have a staff since USC and Washington are at an impasse in buyouts for his staff.

I'm actually rooting for buckeyes/Seminoles in the championship. I never was one for "conference pride" I suppose. Never rooted for Texas or Oklahoma or Nebraska. Not currently rooting for Alabama or auburn to sneak in.

No, not really. We can think back longer than Dantonio.

Not good enough to be the trademark win for a team playing in a BCS game.

Albeit I only saw 2 NIU game all season, The MAC Championship and the game against Toledo. But they did not look very impressive in either. Other than Lynch the rest of the players are very average. I'm all for a MAC team making a BCS bowl, but if NIU made one they'd have been blown out like last year.
