Kiltman
I worked up a flat model of what we may or may not have seen so far. The helmet is a complete guess at this point.Looks good...I wonder if the name on the back will be gold tooYea it's up in the air with the helmet....I expect a little more noticeable change though
mattwillcox
As far as the pant stripe goes, it may have something to do with the striping of the white jersey. If they plan on wearing white over white it would have to work well with both jerseys. Portfolio Dribbble
Formo
I do like pretty much everything that's been teased so far, though. As long as they avoid a matte helmet and some pointless sublimated middle stripe, I'll be pretty happy with what the North trots out as a whole.UnAmerican. No matte helmet?! You are kidding, right? The matte finish > the shiney/sparkly finish 100% of the time. I'm with you on the middle stripe, though....not sure if you're kidding. But no, I don't really care for matte helmets. I'm fine with a non-sparkly finish, mind you, but that doesn't have to be matte. The textured/matte look on a helmet just isn't something I care for - it makes the uniform feel flat when played in well-lit conditions.I'm not kidding. The Gophers got matte helmets last year.. and they are awesome. Of course, they had a sparkly maroon prior to the new shells, so that may factor into it.That said, I love the matte helmets. Gives it an industrial/military look to it. Doesn't need to be super textured, just a matte finish.
TheOldRoman
People crying for 7 years for the VIKINGS to wear throwbacks and the VIKINGS brass listens to us. We get OLD school and people complain. As Chris Carter say's "C'MON MAN!" I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The only way in which the new jerseys are "old school" is that they have solid white numbers. The Vikings had never used a collar wordmark (other than their most recent set), they have never used that number font, they have never had sleeves stripes or pant stripes like the ones we have seen thusfar. This isn't a retro look, other than the strong possibility of them using a gray facemask for no reason. Even from what we've seen, we still don't know for sure that they don't have any contrasting jersey sidepanels (I doubt it) or truncated pants stripes (possible). And, yes, it is possible to hate the Vikings' old uniforms and also hate the new uniforms which go in a different direction. Besides, we aren't to that point yet. I dislike most of what I've see thusfar, but nobody is complaining because we haven't seen the whole thing yet. Billy B
I really like the jersey striping. I was never a big fan of the Northwestern stripes on their throwbacks, so I'm happy they're moving away from that while keeping it pretty traditional. I would've preferred a gold outline on the numbers, but I don't really mind the plain white. And I'm a little worried that we haven't seen any part of the helmet yet. I hope they don't have a big surprise that they're waiting to unveil at the end. Hoping for a purple facemask, but for whatever reason a gray facemask on the Vikings doesn't bother me as much as it does for most teams.

oldschoolvikings
If they use a white facemask the outlineless numbers won't seem out of place. They don't have a history of that, so I'd be pretty surprised if they went that route. That said, it wouldn't look as out of place if/when they go with grey They wore a white facemask for at least one season in the early 80s.1980-1984 according to the Helmet Project. (And, my own memory.)I think of Tommy Kramer when I think about Vikings helmets with White masks. That being said, keeping them Purple is the only sensible thing to do.Here's Tommy Kramer making an appearance in all three facemasks. Gray early in his career, white in the middle, and purple at the end.[ http://dstewartpaint.blogspot.com/

I think the Bears would look amazing with matte shells.I work at FedEx, and just about every night we get a few of these in our system. The matte finish on those crates/boxes is the type I'm talking about. It's not glossy, or shiny.. but it's not like it has a rough texture to it, either. It just.. Is.If that makes sense. hugevolsfan
I pieced the pieces together to get this. It's not perfect but it is what I think we can expect.I like the white only numerals. In my eye they actually match the stripe pattern well in that the bold white and bold gold stripes are separate from each other. That being said, the "misfit" of the group would be the pant stripes from what I've seen.Yeah but they are opposite of the stripes not sure I much care for the font as it does not match anything on the uniform.I think a yellow outline would make them pop moreagree that the number font and the wordmark do not go together at allYeah but how many teams have matching word marks and number fonts?Either they'd need a block wordmark, or really thin numbers like the wordmark. So far I like it though!I was not saying match them exact but one is rounded & the other is spiky just two totally different styles which looks odd to me but I still think this is better than most designs I have seen recently.
