Rite of Spring 2013 (NHL Playoffs): "You have no fear of the underdog, that's why you will not survive."

The only benefit to the hockey world from the Hurricanes winning the Cup in 2006 is, indeed, that it has given Cam Ward infinite rope to piss on.

Accordingly, we've been able to ignore the Hurricanes presence ever since then.

Brodeur's interference episode of 2009 says otherwise:

It's called perspective. It's easy to forget post season failures after winning a championship.

0-3 series comebacks are something which are never easy to forget. I bet there are still Yankee fans who grind their teeth to this day, as to how the 2004 ALCS ended.

The 2010 postseason is the wackiest one to occur in recent times. The ECF was a #7 vs. #8 matchup, for 'cripes sakes.

Oh yeah, well, last year's West Finals involved the Phoenix freaking Coyotes. Can you imagine all the heart attacks and/or strokes from some CCSLC people had they won the Cup?

They still have to win 1 more game...

Heartbreaking at the time, but after 2011 that's just a blip on the radar.

Really? If it were me and I were a Bruins fan, I'd still roll into a fetal ball position and weep, when reminded of only the 4th 3-0 series collapse in all of sports history.

Yeah, probably, considering you're the same guy who thinks a two goal lead is worse than a one goal lead.

Very easy. That collapse is all but forgotten around these parts. It's still talked about of course when the B's are in the situation they're currently in, but no one's too butt hurt about it. They did win the Cup the next year, after all.

Like someone else said, it's perception. In sports, I absolutely hate momentum when it's not on your side, and how your teams tend to lose it in such drastic ways. I see it most in baseball when a crappy reliever blows a save chance or even a safe lead, leaving a manager to pick up the pieces, give all the burden to the next pitcher and have the team on offense be all aggressive on scoring. But I also see it in hockey and soccer also.

That wasn't wacky. Wacky, to me, implies something helter skelter and fun to watch, and, besides, the Chicago contingent was quite pleased with the end result of 2010.

Phoenix's run last year wasn't wacky. It was downright infuriating.

That also helped end an 86 year championship drought for a hated rival. A team that won another World Series two short years after that.

While the Bruins and Flyers, no doubt, have had some playoff duels over the years, their 2010 and '11 encounters are their only meetings since the late '70s, I believe. They have never been in the same division. Yankees-Red Sox, on the other hand, is the most historical rivalry in North American sports. And even if the Yankees had won every World Series since 2004, you can bet there would be teeth grinding to this day about what happened in October 2004. Worst sports experience of my life, and that's probably never going to change.

We're on our way to a best of 3, which SHOULD favor the Blackhawks, but *sets house on fire*

Whoever wins needs to wrap it up in six, please. Don't want to miss a game 7 because of a flight (to Chicago, no less).

the worst helmets design to me is the Jacksonville jaguars hamlets from 1995 to 2012 because you can't see the logo vary wall

I don't even know why or how the Blackhawks score anymore. Sometimes they just dominate, sometimes they use legitimate skill and coaching tact.

Other times they throw feces at the wall until it sticks. This game is one of those times.
