I'm still calling him Ron Artest.

to me, i dont mind if you change your name if you convert to another religion (see Cassius Clay to Muhammand Ali and Lew Alcindor to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar), if you are an actor/actress (there are a lot of them that have done that) or a rap star, but i dont like it if is something like Chad Ochocinco (Chad Johnson) or something on the lines of that.

so long and thanks for all the fish.

Gather around children, it's storytime with Grandpa Critical Thinker!

Back in my day, names used to have meaning. The end.

Doesn't "Panda Friend" have more immediate meaning than "Ron Artest"?

Ron Artest takes the cake for being the biggest moron in sports as he has taken over Dennis Rodman's role of NBA fool.

Dennis Rodman still has him beat on that accord just for endorsing Kim Jong Un.

It's disrespectful to refuse to call someone by their name. If your name was Bill but I just called you Jack because I wanted to, wouldn't that be annoying?

First of all, anyone has the right to be called whatever they want. No reason to be limited or restricted by what your parents decided to call you. Also, not that your silly rules matter, but what is the difference between a pro basketball player and a movie star or rap star? They're all professional entertainers.

I think that was his point. Could be wrong though.

Oh that's true. But him continuously changing his legal name to unusual names doesn't feel right for some reason. I don't think I'm the only one scratching my head.
