  1. Past hour
  2. I predict the next two City Connect designs—Guardians and Cardinals—will provide a much-needed break from the deluge of black and dark navy, but then we’ll get another black-heavy design with Toronto at the end of the month.
  3. A uniform fit for a bowling league. This made me realize the intent of the vertical stripes on the Pistons city jersey. Probably should've just read the press release at the time but I rarely bother with digging through Nike-speak.
  4. In fact, IU-Indianapolis just hired the men's basketball coach from UIndy.

  7. That Bayern shirt is horrible. Monochrome crests have no place on soccer jerseys. Back numbers and names will be nearly unreadable if they are in the same red tone as the other applications. (I hope DFL intervenes and forces them to use white numbers and names). Absolutely shocking concept and even more shockingly bad execution.
  8. Team 249... and we are almost at 250 too, which is a LOT. UDC FIREBIRDS Fun fact, they almost made the NCACF thread but I felt that they would outshine other teams so I didn't.
  9. I think the only possible clue at this point regarding a color scheme is the Light Blue seen in the generic "UTAH" found on the "UTAH Est. 2024" images. Other than that, and including what Ryan Smith has said, we can expect some level of Purple and/or Light Blue somewhere in the color scheme. That said, I'm eagerly awaiting what comes of it and when. As for the names trademarked so far, it looks to go down to Yetis, Outlaws, and Mammoth. I'll admit, Mammoth is growing on me, as I always thought Mammoth(s)--improper English aside--would be a great name for a hockey team, and a mammoth mascot should be instantly recognizable in the NHL. Plus, there are mammoth fossils within the state. However, if I were a betting man, I'd say Yetis wins out for the reasons discussed in this thread--IMO it's clearly got the momentum at the moment. I don't hate it, and there have been some pretty good concepts out there; hopefully Doubleday and Cartwright can nail the branding and Ryan doesn't try to micromanage things too much like he apparently did with the infamous Jazz redesign. I don't think we'll hear much about the name or colors until after the playoffs finish, though who knows. What does intrigue me is that Ryan Smith mentioned a couple names that haven't yet been trademarked in Black Diamonds and Golden Eagles. I wouldn't be surprised if Chicago or Vegas put the kibosh on either of those, but I wonder if "Utah Ice" could be a way to backdoor something like "Ice Eagles" as a name, as minor league-ish as it may seem. I'm not counting on it, but I could see something like that.
  10. Thanks! Yeah I did think it was a tad too dark myself. I've edited the original post to include this tweak. Original version below, for anyone curious: To be honest I only became aware of its existence after that one scene from the cartoon went viral ("Think, Mark!") Not one I plan on watching as I'm not keen on gory stuff, but thought it'd be fun to include in this series anyway
  11. Honoring Vick's legacy by giving his number to another running back
  12. UPDATE ON MY ETHIOPIAN AIRLINES CONCEPT: After some thought, I decided to push through with the yellow pants. Also, I made the primary socks solid: all-red on the home, all-white on the road. You can view the changes here.
  13. The thing that’s so surprising to me is just how stifling the T Wolves defense looked without their best defender. The Wolves are gonna be a problem for any of the remaining teams.
  14. Thanks! Unless I'm mistaken, I believe they've only ever worn in for batting practice/Spring Training. The Cards' president has heavily hinted that their upcoming City Connect will be red, though (my guess is it'll be inspired by the St. Louis flag), so be on the lookout for that. I tried, but it made it look more like a direct throwback, when I was going for a bit of a modernization. It also prevents the ray from having the matching outline: I like it, but I think I prefer the gradient as the outline.
  15. Amidst all the dog and Mike Vick jokes, if we want to get technical, Younghoe Koo has moved on from #7 to #6 to make way for Bijan Robinson.
  16. I think the Pacers are the first team to wear just one uniform for multiple rounds of the playoffs. No other team left has a yellow/close to yellow jersey so we could theoretically see these all the way through the Finals. I’m not complaining, it’s the best look in their arsenal.
  17. This is without Gobert, too. How about Charmin Anthony-Towns stepping up in his absence. Although this does kind of drive home the point that you just don't need them both. I'll entertain a Dwyane Wade comparison when/if he wins a ring. But this Jordan needs to stop.
  18. But also wow. This is a hard-to-comprehend result. Were Bruce Brown/Jeff Green just that important to Denver? Are Anthony Edwards and the TWolves already that much better? Is there so much parity now that even the defending champs can get punked? Is Jamal Murray waaaaay more hurt than we thought? Are the Lakers superturbotrash? Some of those are yes, but I’m not sure which ones. There’s also a chance this is just a bad night and we get a competitive Game 3/rest of series.
  19. The photo isn’t loading but here are a couple. This is not a bad shirt but far from their best. I am strongly of the belief that the home shirt should use the normal crest. This is noteworthy because this makes two seasons in a row without the colored badge. Allianz will become the new sleeve sponsor. The Bayern sleeve was unsponsored this year and displayed an anti racism message but has been sponsored in years prior. Allianz has been the arena sponsor since it opened and also the women’s sponsor. Their logo comes with a twist. It is a QR code for a campaign that refunds one out of every 100 shirts sold. There will be additional activations throughout the upcoming campaign. The multiple tones of red make it feel like a version of their Parley shirt or the 15/16 kit (one of their absolute best).
  20. Hopefully this marks the end of them putting 5280 on the front.
  21. My biggest fear about the Texans redesign is that we'll be saying this about the originals in 5 years
  22. Yeah so, Minnesota is taking the defending champs to the absolute woodshed. Holy hell.
