Favorite Player(s) on Other Teams?

Anyone else got favorite players on other teams? They could be players you liked when they were on your favorite team and still like even after they were traded/released, players you rooted for when they played in college but were drafted by another team, or players you just respect who happen to play on other teams. Also they can be retired (a couple of mine are now retired).

Here are my picks.

Baseball:

Nyjer Morgan. He was my favorite player when he was with the Nats.

Basketball (I have 2):

Charles Barkley: I did a report on him back in the 6th grade.

Steve Nash: I respect him because he was a great point guard.

My all-time favorite player on another team happened to play for a division rival. Barry Sanders. Nobody was more fun to watch. Maybe if the Lions would have been really good, I'd have struggled to like him, but since they were mediocre, it was easy enough.

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."

Hockey- I'm a huge fan of defensive forwards, so Pavel Datsyuk. The guy to me, is the best all around player in the league. He can score, he can defend, he can control the ice and set up plays. Mad underrated. Also, Anze Kopitar, Patrice Bergeron (even though he's a Bruin), Jonathan Toews. Also Jaromir Jagr just because he's an ageless wonder.

Basketball- Paul Pierce. Crazy clutch. Andre Iguodala because of the underrated-ness. I used to be a fan of Larry Johnson, John Stockton.

Baseball- Tim Linecum. Can't think of any others.

Unlike most of my classmates and friends growing up in Chicagoland, I was a White Sox fan. I was also a shrimpy Little Leaguer, one sick of being stuck right field. For those in my plight, second base was the best shot of getting into the action. And in the 1980s, the best 2B in the business was Ryne Sandberg. I watched a ton of Cub games because they were usually on after school.

As a Bear fan whose playbook read mostly Payton left, right, up the middle, then punt, Dan Marino's passing game was exotic and intoxicating.

Somewhere I have Jaromir Jagr's rookie card, and even though he shredded the Hawks' defense in the '92 Final, you couldn't not watch and be amazed at what he did night in, night out. Same with Sergei Federov. Current players I'd have to include Pavel Datsyuk, Henrik Zetterberg, Drew Doughty and after this last series, Victor Hedman

I have followed Tim Lincecum for several years now. I just love the way he pitches and I love what he does for charity. Plus, I got his autograph when the Giants came to Nationals Park.

I've always loved Steven Stamkos, Felix Hernandez and Paul Goldschmidt.

Definitely Goldy for me. He's the ONLY enjoyable thing about that D Backs team, but he's just a joy to watch.

Growing up, I always really loved Jason Kidd. Stockton was (and still is) my favorite player then, but any chance I got to watch Kidd play, I took it. He was one of those cerebral point guards that was a joy to watch, much like Stockton. Staying in the NBA, I've always had upmost respect for Tim Duncan and have really enjoyed watching him play as well. Reggie Miller was another favorite as well.

In the NFL, I'd say Drew Brees and Larry Fitzgerald would be my non-Colts favorites. I suppose you could count Peyton Manning (who is my all-time favorite player) if we're talking current, but I still think of him often as a Colt anyways.

For the MLB, Ken Griffey Jr. was my favorite player growing up, so he'd be top for me. Joe Mauer, Alex Gordon and Josh Hamilton are others. Even though I'n a Dodger fan, I've always really respected and liked Buster Posey also.
