Ray Lankford Posted May 17, 2018 Share Posted May 17, 2018 This trip down Marlins memory lane and the way they did (or didn't) use teal at the beginning reminds me of the Astros and what they've done with orange. It's not a perfect comparison, the Astros still have the orange alt, but it does feel like they're moving away from a bright, unique look to the safety of a dark color. (And the black hat/helmet looks pretty good...a close second to teal hats/helmets). Black stripes came when they switched to the black-heavy wordmark. Smart is believing half of what you hear. Here's a 1997 Renteria jersey up close... And Piazza in 1998 in teal, why would they be teal in 96 and in 98 but not in 97?
