A bit late to the show, but I'll comment on as many as I can...

Flames: It's not every day you see white gloves...this is a rather bold set, but one that definitely captures that essential Flameness. Love the burning leaf, if they just HAVE to have some sort of "WE ARE CANADIAN, EH!" indicator.

Preds: If you were going for something that was at once contemporary yet "holy crap I've never seen anything like that," then holy crap I've never seen anything like that.

Jets: the fauxbacks are a winner. I figure one thing, the home and away aren't my favorites ever, but sometimes less is more.

Blackhawks: I see what you were doing with set 1's white jersey, but I must give my nod to set 2.

Red Wings 1: the home/away's design is pretty nice, too bad you kinda had to ruin it with the feather duster :D...about the addon the alt's based on...I think I remember that one. I know I remember that BFBS Leafs jersey you had.

Red Wings 2: thanks man...I needed a good laugh

Canucks: this is simply a massive improvement over...well, everything about the real Canuck set.

Kings: My favorite part of the home/away design is the yoke, you don't see angled yokes like that everyday. I'm somewhat undecided between the alts, though I'm leaning towards the silver one.

Hey buddy, first off, thanks for the detailed reply, I really appreciate it. :)

With the Flames (like a lot of the sets in this project) I was trying to drop as much black as possible. While black does look really good with red/yellow, I wanted to try my hand at designing them without it. I tried using red gloves with the away uniform but I just hated the way it looked. While a lot of traditionalists would hate the idea of white gloves (and it is a fair argument) I thought it was more cohesive to what I was trying to do.

The Preds are actually one of my personal favorite designs in this project. It is fun having a team you don't have to be afraid about holding back with.

The Jets, I think you and I both know if I made the alternate the home and did a white version of it as the away it would be awesome, but I wanted to try to stick with what the team currently uses for logos and colors. In the future I definitely see that happening.

I think one day I will recreate that black for black sakes jersey for the Redwings that, believe it or not, the team actually considered as I had sent in images of it and got a letter back asking for more images of it. lol

Hawks and Canucks, thank you. :)

Kings, thanks again. I was really pleased with the design I came up with for the unique yoke that, after I made it ended up getting reused with a couple teams later on lol. Typical, right?

The New Jersey Devils are the last of two teams remaining.

Home & Away: While the Minnesota Wild pretty much own the Red/Green color scheme in hockey today, I have always been a big fan of the Devils in those colors, as opposed to red/black, so, with that in mind I have completely stripped the Devils of black. The primary logo is still the same one the Devils have always used (with a minor recolor), but the shoulders feature a brand-new logo.

Alternate: This jersey features the "D" logo I designed as the main crest. The uniform really minimizes red in the design as to both help feature the red logo more prominently as well as a nod to New Jersey, the "Garden State."

Here is Part 2 for the New Jersey Devils.

Home & Away: The primary jerseys in this set have a more traditional hockey feel to them. I also kept black out of the color scheme in favor of green. The primary logo, while slightly altered, is the same as on the first set.

Alternate: The alternate, once again green, sports the red "D" logo with a completely different design from set 1. The side-panel mesh is completely unique to any template out there, while the shoulders are the more angular design that I first used with the Kings.

And the final team, the Dallas Stars part 1 of 2.

Home & Away: This year the Dallas Stars rebranded themselves with new logos and a new color scheme of white, green and black. While silver is in their scheme, it only makes an appearance in their logos. While I actually do like the new look of the Stars (though their previous set left a lot to be desired), I wanted to bring the Stars back to their origins with primarily green, gold and white jerseys. The primary jerseys are an incredibly simplistic design of big, bold stripes on the sleeves and hem. The previous Stars logo (save for "DALLAS") acts as the main crest while an altered version of their new roundel logo adorns the shoulders.

Alternate: Starting in 1997 (and through 2006) the Stars introduced a star-themed template that I have decided to bring back in my own way. The "DALLAS" wordmark (seen on their 2007-13 jerseys) now becomes the primary mark on the front of the jersey, just above the player's number.

Part 2 for the Dallas Stars brings me to my final set in my quest to redesign the NHL.

Home & Away: The main uniforms in this set keep with a traditional theme while introducing more modern numbers and letters.

Alternate: The alternate jersey, like many jerseys I have posted on here throughout this project, is another older design of mine, modified and touched up to be a bit cleaner. If there was ever a jersey that screamed "Stars," this is it. The uniform features similar traditional striping as the home and away while large stars overlay the gradient edges. Also, a "STARS" wordmark slants from the top left to bottom right of the jersey.

Love set #1 but both alternates are pretty cool!

Thanks a lot. I appreciate the comment and view, of course. :)

Huge fan of your Devils jerseys. The primaries of set 1 with the alternate of set 2 would be fantastic.

I was worried how people would react to a black-less devils but I am glad to hear that the first review is positive. Thank you for you comment. :)

I've started going through some of the unused jerseys for the inital part of my NHL project and posting them on my blog, but I will share some here as well.

Minnesota Wild.

Details: I've decided to share two jerseys in this post since they are meant to go together and I feel it would be a waste to showcase them separately. The green jersey in this set was originally intended to be an alternate jersey for my original Wild set, but I didn't like the idea of having two primarily green jerseys, so I went with a red alternate. I liked the design so much that I decided to try making a white uniform to compliment it. Below is what I came up with.

Love the hem striping, very creative! Just wish the bear head was front and center,

Hey Morgo, I really appreciate the comment. I thought about using the bear head logo (which I prefer as well), but I really wanted the hem striping to mirror the shooting star design in the "Minnesota" script logo. Plus this started as a one-off that I never included in the "official" set.

Thoughts on the Calgary set:

- I really like the design of the flaming maple leaf secondary logo

- The jersey design reminds me a lot of the '90's era Buffalo Sabres (not sure if it's a good or bad thing)

- Overall a good mix of color and fairly unique design elements.

- Great execution!

I really like these, but they remind me of your sharks concept a bit too much

You know, you're right. It's not an exact copy, as I layered them after I took a look back, but damn are they close. lol I was planning on giving the Sharks another go in the future anyway (and possibly the Flames, too), so in time it probably won't matter. Thanks for the comment. :)

I like the striping pattern, but I don't think it fits the Flames.

Those designs for Jersey, Dallas, and Minny are complete uniform porn, though. Excellent stuff. The hem on that Wild sweater is gorgeous and clever.

I appreciate your thoughts, and thank you very much for the kind words about NJ, Dallas and Minnesota. :) The Wild sweater was just a prototype I'd messed around with and left alone while I was working on the full project and afterward I went back to, a green version, and thought it looked good enough to try making a matching white version.

Thank you very much for the comments. Back in the day I actually liked those Sabres jerseys, so I very well could have been subconsciously inspired by them. I honestly miss the logo, as well, despite it being mockingly referred to as the "goat head." Sometimes heritage gets in the way of progress. :)

So I'd like some thoughts if anyone is up for it. I have a white version that I feel is "perfect," at least in terms of this style set, but I can't decide between the two different versions of the home jersey. I decided to put Tampa back in black. The first one is basically a mirror of the white jersey with the white and black swapped out, but the second jersey seems to jump out more. I am, in a lot of ways, obsessive about having teams with two congruent designs between home/road, but I guess if I went with the second it wouldn't be a huge stretch. The color placement theory would just be a little off.

Thoughts?

Go with the one on the right, like you said it jumps out more. The only thing with this design i'm not sure of is the blue oval in the logo, it gets lost in the black, thats the most difficult challenge with this logo.

I agree with daniel75 about the blue oval getting lost. Maybe add a white outline, or better yet, adopt their original shade of Hawaiian blue. Besides that minor flaw, this looks really good. A solid combination of their simplified logos with their Stanley Cup Winning look. Some silver and one of the aforementioned fixes would result in a 5 star concept.
