2008/09 NBA New Logos & Uniforms

Saw this on the RealGM Raptors' forum. Here's some video gameplay of NBA Live 09 with the new black alt. of the Raps. Looks pretty snazzy IMO.

More interesting in that video is the Oklahoma City jerseys. They have generic uniforms for the nameless wanderers from OKC. Makes me wonder if the team logo and name will be finalized too late for inclusion in the game--seems like if they expected to get the identity info in time, they wouldn't have created uniforms and on-screen graphics for a generic OKC identity; they would just have kept the Sonics unis until they put the new ones in.

Hmm... could you (or AAO, anyone else, whoever can do it cleanly) make the "New Orleans" on the away yellow, while leaving the numbers white? And on the home, make the "New Orleans" purple(creole trim) while leaving the numbers light blue? Thanks. That, I think would be absolutely ideal.

White on white and creole blue on creole blue numbers? Ya kiddin? Homes are fine as far as coloring goes. Aways, make lettering/numerals white trimmed in dark purple, and the side panels either yellow with dark purple in middle, or dark purple with yellow in the middle, both conceptionalized (sp? even a word?) by myself and Hoopskid. But no more color on same color lettering or numerals on sports uniforms. At least not with a team that has 3 colors that work well together and can visually be applied on another color in fine form.

They look to me like the All-Star Game 08 template. Maybe I am wrong, that was just my first thought. So if that is true, maybe they didn't have to do that much work to make the uniforms, that way they won't feel bad when they start over with Thunder jerseys. Just my thoughts...

On another note, those Raptors jerseys are what we all expected, nothing too special.

Sorry to post again within an hour, but I just saw this. Could be nothing, and probably is, but on the OKC NBA site if you rollover the "Tickets" button a little image pops down. It is this image below.

I couldn't find any reference pictures to see if this is the generic Ford Center basketball floor, so any help with that would be great. If it is the OKC Thunder court in progress, that may tell us that they are using a Dark Royal and a Light Blue. Then again, the gradients tell me it is probably just made to match the Ford logo on the sides. Anybody out there smarter than me? No jokes...

Ford Center probably changed their generic court to one based off the one the Hornets used. Also, corporate logos can't be on NBA courts, so there ya go. I have no idea why STAPLES Center has the STAPLES logo though.

that's right, because it's a version of the stadium's logo on the court (which is basically a modified corporate logo, but not considered an actual corporate logo).

I like that video, especially the fact that you could wear the roads at home for promotion and advertising, so realistic. I really hope they have the bulls in St. patty's green

If you want to take the legal analogy further, since I wasn't the one who swore, I guess this would be my amicus curiae brief in support of Old School Fool. Also, other than the URL, can't prove it was last season and not some time previous.

I would think that, perhaps since this is the official wordmark of the arena, it doesn't technically violate the rule because the arena is allowed to have its' own logo on the court.

Is that the same font Staples uses for their logo, though? Might be a different font just with the L being similar. They look very similar, but then again, if there is a difference I wouldn't be the one to notice it.
