If the SEC West fails to win the national title this year, it'll be the biggest failure in SEC history.

All season long, we've heard how the SEC West is good enough to get three teams in the playoffs and that most teams couldn't survive the SEC West gauntlet.

Well, they have NO excuses.

Except for the fact that they all have to play each other, and mostly at the end of the season. Where the losers may not get a chance to jump back up.

What do you all think the chances of a Big 12 team getting in the playoff this year? They keep knocking each other off.

Cardinals -- Rams -- Blues -- Tigers -- Liverpool

Such a garbage offensive-PI call to end the FSU-ND game.

Not sure how that's garbage. The receiver was making no attempt to run a route. He was just pushing the DB backwards. That's as blatant an OPI call as you can get.
I thought so at the time, but now I think they got it wrong. The defender jammed the WR right at the snap... WR never put his hands up to block or anything. The second the CB jammed the WR, he basically eliminated himself from that play. Whether the WR tried to break the press or not, there's no way he would have gotten out there. The defender didn't even look at the wide open WR until after the ball was in the air.

Apparently the line judge, who had as good a view as anyone, was seen mouthing "are you really going to make that call?"

Bull :censored:. That was about as obvious of an offensive PI call as you can get.

That ASU game last night was awesome. First full performance they've had all year, and the defense FINALLY looks like they're starting to figure things out.

I do feel really bad for Taylor Kelly, though. The way Mike Bercovichi is playing, I simply can't see Todd Graham going away from him after Kelly returns.

Yeah, that was probably OPI. Your issue was that you ran the same play in the first half -- it's the old trick of telling the referee "hey, watch for this."

The frustrating thing is that he didn't need to because FSU blew that coverage. Sigh.

Roll on. Still think 11-1 gets us in. Can't wait for ASU in a few weeks provided y'all take care of business and we beat Navy.

Losing at Ole Miss, at Georgia, and at Alabama, possibly. And while A&M and South Carolina are down, they're still capable football teams.

Ole Miss over Georgia in Conference Championship.

As for the Playoff, I think it'll probably be:

1. Florida State (assuming they stay unbeaten)

2. Ole Miss (with the record shown above)

3. Michigan State (1-loss the rest of the way)

4. Notre Dame (1-loss the rest of the way, gets in over Oregon due to quality of loss)

Outside looking in: Alabama, Oregon

I they'll be very cautious about putting 2 SEC teams in the playoff and will try to avoid it at all cost (i.e. a 1-loss conference champ, or 1 loss Notre Dame.) and the Big 12 seems to have cannibalized itself at this point with it's top teams being (gulp) Baylor, TCU, and Kansas State. The former two haven't played Oklahoma yet, and the latter hasn't faced either of the two mention before. Sparty and Oregon will have a very good shot at getting in if they don't take any losses the rest of the way, Michigan State won't have much beef on it's schedule, but a one-loss conference champion will be hard to turn down since they have a good loss. I think Oregon's Arizona loss will drag them down below a potential one-loss Notre Dame team.

Conspiracy theorists - and those who see it as the basis of a good novel - would say that the pass interference call/lack of unsportsman conduct (FSU player removed helmet to celebrate the call) as the ACC keeping the 'Noles undefeated, as they are the conference's only hope to get into the 4-team playoff.

Do I think it was pi? No. Do I think there was shenanigans behind the call? No Was the official who made the call in the wrong place to make it? Yes.

Yeah, I don't think there were any shenanigans either. It was, in my opinion, a blown call, though. I think missing the unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on FSU was just an oversight. At the very least, they should have replayed the down.

Here's a new look at the call at the end of the FSU/Notre Dame game. Pretty much confirms it's a blown call to me. If, at least, the officials used the correct number when announcing the penalty.

http://www.wsbt.com/sports/a-new-look-at-that-controversial-call-during-nd-vs-fsu/29232562

The corner who was responsible for the area in which the catch was made blew his assignment and tried to jump a slant, which is the cause of the contact between himself and the WR.

Notre Dame got screwed.

Anyone else think that the University of Michigan should hire Jim Harbaugh as their next head coach, if he is offered the job?

He's not coming. Give up.

Being the coach of a college football team is better than not being a coach of any team at all, and I like his coaching style. After the dysfunctional cluster-:censored: that has been the Rich Rodriguez and Brady Hoke eras, it would be nice if Michigan could hire a coach who actually gets good results from his players and doesn't make a damn fool out of himself. In the coaching world the old saying is true, nice coaches do finish last. Jim Harbaugh is a proven winner and he should be hired for this quote alone:

Ok, so, two things.

1) Have you watched the Niners, like, at all this season?

2) You do realize this is Jim Harbaugh you're talking about, right?
