Chip Kelly...

Chip has a NCAA "show cause" on his record and still owes Oregon $$$ when taking Philly job.

Phil Knight has monies.

You are the same cat who just asked about Toronto hosting a Winter Classic, when history indicates that it's an event made for US television and NBC, chief.

You are FAR from wise, B.

I haven't watched any of their other games this year, but West Virginia looks like a team that's just as frustrating and disappointing to watch as Arizona State is. It's actually made for a pretty fun game! But, I feel you, Mountaineers fans.

That game wasn't on helfrich. It was on the fact that jeff lockie is literally a division two level player, maybe not even that. My dad commented on how he's the worst quarterback he's ever seen in an oregon uniform, and that might be right. Helfrich is saving mahalak and the other recruits until they're ready, there's no reason to bust them out in a meaningless exhibition game and waste eligibility. If adams doesn't go down, we win this game easy. It's unfortunate, but them's the cards. Now, if we still can't get a good backup a few years from now, then we have massive issues. Pelum needs to be fired either way.

Do any of those teams know the concept of defense?

So you now use, "we" for Oregon?

Part of being a HC is also managing people and he seems not to have that ability. Didn't have it with Frost, but forcing the DC to leave in Pellum does not assist his power within talk amongst assistants.

That's the thing. The defense is supposed to be ASU's backbone. It's an all or nothing defense that's pretty much been nothing 90% of the time this year.

It's bittersweet, personally. Most of the seniors on this team were freshmen/in their first full year when I started at ASU, so I've seen these guys play a TON of games and had a few classes with a handful of them. And there have been a LOT of really fun moments in the Todd Graham era. I hope I get to see one or two of these guys make an NFL roster and stick around for awhile.

But damn, I sure as hell am NOT going to miss watching Mike Bercovici play quarterback. That guy was so frustratingly awful over his career, and i'm just glad it's mercifully over.

But where do they go from here? Todd Graham came in talking "Rose Bowl or BUST!!!", and we're basically right back to the Dennis Erickson/Dirk Koetter era already. Jealen Strong was a Godsend and Taylor Kelly was boring but perfect for that system. I don't see Graham finding a juco recruit that strong or a quarterback that fits the system so well twice. I give him one more year, tops. But I really wouldn't be surprised if they sacked him in the next few weeks and moved on. I'm not sure what's left on his contract, though.

Or he could just bolt for, like, Missouri, or whatever his next "dream job" is.

He's managed people well enough to win a lot of games. He can't control Frost leaving, no head coach in the country would be able to make him stay. We lost because lockie is awful, that's it. If we have adams all year, we might even go 12-0, who knows. Helfrich has been really successful, 9-4 is only bad if you're bo pelini, and we all know how Nebraska fared when they got rid of him. I don't know what your deal is with mocking schools for losing one game. Is houston regretting extended Hermon now?

And I say get rid of Pelum because we had one of the statistically worst defenses in the country this year, as well as a below average defense last year, the one where we had a lot of NFL draft prospects. Our secondary was 125th in the country. How does a coach keep his job with that? You don't. I think if oregon gets literally anyone else that's not already on the staff to coach defense we improve, if anything because you can't go much further down.

Bringing an unrelated Big Ten team into this seems rather unnecessary, unless you're still looking to make jabs at a man who once coached your in-state rival.

A little funny to me that you seem to expect Nebraska to instantly produce results with a new coach in Year 1, but all Helfrich needs it's the right assistants, more time, etc.

Hey, the Eagles fired Chip, maybe you can bring him back? Stop squawking about getting less than your entitled 12 wins. There are plenty of schools that would give anything to regularly win more than 7 and Oregon still has a competitive team. This isn't Xbox; you're actually gonna lose some games.

How the hell am I squaking, I think helfrich is a good coach. I'm defending him. What are you talking about? The only coach I think should be out is pelum because it's so painfully obvious he's an awful coodinator. You can't lie with 125th ranked pass defense, not to mention how bad our defense was last year. Everyone is else is fine, 9-4 is a fine year considering how hurt adams was.

taking this convo to where it belongs

Poor excuse, tcu's offense(in purple jerseys) was on the field just as much and didn't look tired.. For a team that prides themselves on "tempo", blowing a 31-point lead because you got tired is pretty sorry, especially in the new vapor untouchable template and that new beveled logo

It doesn't work both ways. The defense always gets more tired than the offense. That's kind of the entire reason tempo offenses exist. They tire out the defense.

This game has the makings of a good one so far. Ordinarily I tend to think if it's close late, Alabama will wear the opponent down for the win but Alabama's defense is having some issues of their own, so we'll see.

How the hell is Alabama getting away with all of these blindside blocks? I thought those were penalties, I could be wrong though.

Both teams have been chippier than I've seen them all year. It's a good bit annoying. And there's been at least 2 blindside blocks not called that could have been easily called.

That was the easiest onside kick I've ever seen. What a perfect kick, too.

And OJ Howard is pretty much dominating.

When Alabama won their championship against Notre Dame, OJ Howard seemed to be a game changer, but essentially been in hibernation for the last 37 games of his career.
