Well, he did throw for 4,700 yards and 40 TDs last season. I think we should at least wait more than a few injury-plagued games before dismissing it as a fluke and calling him a disappointment because that's a pretty damn impressive season.

Maybe I'm jumping the gun a bit, and I agree that the majority of the Colt's problems don't fall on his shoulders. But he was alsways hyped up as the guy who was supposed to lift this team to the top despite all of the other issues, sort of like Manning, and so far he hasn't really been that. He's definitely been good, and he's going to have a solid career regardless, but I'm just wondering if he's really going to be the next "legend" like he was made out to be without question.

And just for reference, I really like Andrew Luck. I hope he IS that guy, I just wonder if maybe he was pegged just a few notches above what is realistic.

What's your point?

That a Colin Kaepernick fan shouldn't be calling Andrew Luck a disappointment.

Oh, so I like Colin Kaepernick so I can't have an opinion on Andrew Luck. I get it  That's a really stupid thing to say, even coming from you. Is that why you really like Tom Brady? So you can "validate" your thoughts? GTFOH.

I'm not sure how me being a fan of a guy who nobody expected much from (me included) and who ended up having a few moments of greatness makes my opinion on another quarterback invalid. When has ANYONE ever said that Kaepernick is that can't miss prospect? I like the guy because he was the odd lanky guy from the local University who happened to lead the "local" NFL team (Reno is basically Niners territory) to a Super Bowl. I HOPE he turns it around, but I can also be realistic about it. He probably won't.

Like I said, Luck is a solid QB who I hope transitions into "the" next guy, but I'm wondering if, just maybe, that was a bit of an overreaction. Sorry my opinion is "invalid" because I like Kaepernick, though.

I'm touched.

More seriously though, this is weird. What beef do I have with you, exactly?

Is that why you really like Tom Brady? So you can "validate" your thoughts? GTFOH.

First off, calm down.

Secondly, like Tom Brady? You wanna qualify that statement? As a Chargers fan I can't stand the guy. The Chargers have been able to beat Peyton Manning. Eli too. Brady though? He's given them fits.

As far as "really like[ing] Tom Brady"? I think he's the best QB of his generation. That's separate from my feelings of him as a fan of my team.

And as a Chargers fan? And Leafs fan? And Blue Jays fan? I don't think you can accuse me of liking front runners to "validate" my opinion. So whatever your personal opinion of me is? Kindly get over it.

Oh, so I like Colin Kaepernick so I can't have an opinion on Andrew Luck...

Never said you, or anyone else, have said that Kaepernick was "can't miss." And I'm not saying you can't have an opinion on Andrew Luck.

My point, perhaps hampered by a degree of snark, was that Colin Kaepernick is what a disappointment looks like after everyone was gushing over him after his hot start. Andrew Luck? He's a very talented quarterback asked to do everything for his team on the offensive side of the ball. People like to defend Peyton's time in Indy by saying he was asked to do too much. His Colts teams seem well rounded compared to the scrub lords Luck's being asked to carry.

So that's why I brought up Kaepernick. He got off to a hot start, got A LOT of hype, and flamed out. Luck consistently shows that he's a very talented QB saddled with a team that's simply not complete.

I have no beef with you, I simply thought it was a really stupid statement to make, especially coming from someone who's been here as long as you have. And unfortunately, it's not the first time I've seen you make statements like that and try to interject useless snark into conversations.

As for the Brady statement, I've seen you state several times your feelings about Brady. Like him or not, you think he's the best QB of this generation. And that's fair enough. But don't go around trying to invalidate other people's opinions because of who they like. It's a weak ass argument and isn't necessary. Especially coming from someone who's (admittedly) a Leafs, Chargers, and Blue Jays fan.

We can agree to disagree about the success and failures of Andrew Luck. That's what the boards are for, right?

But don't be a dick about it.

Not at the draft, but after his "rookie" season, some people were saying he'd be a great one. I think Jaws said he'd be the greatest qb of all time (though how much of that is ESPN just trying to sensationalize and create a story out of nothing). There was quite a bit of hype for him. Not nearly as much as Luck of course, I'm just saying it was there.

Well I do apologise if my posting style is grating, but rest assured. It's usually in the name of having fun/not meant to be taken seriously.

I don't think my opinion about Tom Brady being this generation's best QB gives my opinion any more weight, or your Kaepernick fandom invalidating yours. I'm truly sorry if I came off as claiming one or neither. It wasn't my intention.

My point was that Kaepernick would be what I see as a disappointment in comparison to Luck. It wasn't about liking or not liking someone or some team validates or invalidates one's opinion. You being a Kaepernick fan was just an easy in to that point.

We can agree to disagree about the success and failures of Andrew Luck. That's what the boards are for, right?

But don't be a dick about it.

Fair enough :D

Again, my apologies if I came off like I was saying you couldn't have an opinion or that yours was worth less.

I hate him more than I've hated any eagle since mcnabb. How anyone could possibly trust their team in his hands is beyond me. It's not like they'd be a great team with a different qb, but at least they'd have a chance. They may win this game due to penalties, sloppy Giants play, silly turnovers, horrible ref calls, but they are simply a bad offensive football team and other than the fat stupid coach (though he looks like a Calvin Klein model next to the previous stupid fat ass coach) the biggest issue is the stupid deer-in-headlights qb.

Their front 7 on D, regardless of who is substituting in at LB, is as good as I've seen in a very long time. Has to rank among the best in the league right now.

Mod edit: this whole "I hope [person I don't care for] gets AIDS" trend stops now.

Lincoln Financial Field is Eli Manning's house of horrors.

The Giants can go 3-13 for all I care cuz' that's as far as they go! They let the omen of 2014 distract them! Let John Mara or Tisch hand Coughlin his walking papers they're dead! They will never beat Dallas or Philly as long as Tom lives!

You're team won 27-7. You guys got 425 yards of offense. You guys are in first place in the NFC East. And the only thing coming out of your mouth is pure anger. You really are a true eagles fan.

Did you watch the game? The team is a train wreck and it starts at the top. None of those numbers mean a thing. All that matters is against a legit team that wasn't also self destructing they lose the game 14-6.

There's some poll going on one of the local sports sites and "do you have any confidence in Sam Bradford" is now at 6%. If there was a credible backup it would be at 0.

BBTV angry about something? Don't be ridiculous. I've been here ten years and I've never seen that. :P

Once again, no clue what any of this means.
