BeerGuyJordan
Sidney Crosby has never won a game at Unuted Center. Pulled this off Reddit, today: "The last time Pittsburgh beat Chicago on the road was in 2009, in a game Crosby didn't play in. That was a 5-4 OT victory where Cam Barker had 3 points and Antti Niemi played a period for the Blackhawks. The last time Pittsburgh won in Chicago before that was in 2003, when Mario Lemieux had an assist on the only goal of the game. So if it seems like the Blackhawks usually have the Penguins' number at home, they do. The Hawks have also won the last 7 games against the Pens and are 11-2-2 in the series since the lockout." Quillz
The Marlins are the only MLB club with multiple championships that have never lost a playoff series. Won it all in 1997 and 2003. And the ‘76 Reds are the only team to ever sweep every playoff series. At the time, there was only the LCS and World Series.
Quillz
The only remaining World Series combination to feature "virgin" teams would be the Mariners playing the Nationals. Every other MLB club has been to at least one World Series, although a few have yet to win. As of 2017, the 1980 World Series is the last time two teams that had yet to win a championship faced off. infrared41
Last fall, I discovered that Pro Football Reference has this thing that lets you look up any and all scores from NFL games. For example, you can see a list of every game that had a final score of 27-10, etc. From that, I found the following scoreboard trivia. Most of it is stuff about the Cleveland Browns. (as of November of 2017) The Cleveland Browns have won more games (4) by a score of 6-3 than any other NFL team - including the two most recent 6-3 games. (2009 and 2011) In the entire history of the NFL, there have been five games with a final score of 29-6. The New England Patriots won two of them. In the entire history of the team, the Cleveland Browns have never played in a game in which the final score was 21-13 win or lose. (That seems almost impossible to me.) The Cleveland Browns have never won a game by the score of 10-6. They have lost four times by a score of 10-6 - two of those 10-6 losses happened within six weeks of each other in the 2008 season. The Cleveland Browns - both the original Browns and the Browns version 2.0 - have never played a game in which the final score was 35-34. In the history of the NFL, there have been exactly five games with a score of 47-17. The San Diego Chargers were losers of the first two of those games. The teams the Chargers lost to? The Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns. The Cleveland Browns have never won a game by the score of 34-31. The Browns are, however, one of just two Super Bowl Era NFL teams to win a game by the score of 51-0. The Browns did it in the opening game of the 1989 season at Pittsburgh. Mac the Knife
In the few months prior to its formal announcement on February 11, 1982, the USFL had already undergone a few changes behind the scenes... - The Los Angeles owner dropped out to buy a minority stake in an NFL team. That owner was Alex Spanos. - The partners in Oakland decided to split up amicably, with one taking over the L.A. market. The loser, Jim Joseph, went to L.A. - The partners in San Diego couldn't get the city to give them a lease, so they were awarded the L.A. market, which bumped Jim Joseph out just days later. - As consolation, Joseph was allowed to pick any city in the U.S. that didn't have a team. He chose Phoenix, Arizona. - This choice angered Dr. Ted Diethrich, a Phoenix-based heart surgeon who'd bought the Chicago Blitz, but had previously been told Phoenix was too small a market for the USFL. - The Detroit Panthers were renamed the Michigan Panthers after an organization using the name threatened to sue. - The Bay Area Invaders were renamed the Oakland Invaders after a deal to split home games between the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum and Candlestick Park fell through. Other, random things... - Commissioner Chet Simmons, who had up to that point been ESPN's president, was primarily hired not to secure the league a deal with ESPN and firm up a relationship between the two parties, but to try and get them out of (or at least, vastly improve the terms of) a deal they'd already agreed to in principle with ABC. He was woefully unsuccessful. - Along with Simmons, more than half of the original ownership in the USFL was of Jewish faith - in Philadelphia, Washington, Birmingham, Michigan, Arizona, Oakland and Los Angeles. Two had fled Europe to escape the Holocaust.
