dfwabel
Holy Cross HC Bill Carmody couldn’t get Northwestern in the tournament (just like everyone else) after 13 seasons, but he gets a 14-19 Holy Cross to NCAA tourney in first season after winning four of five road games all year during this tournament. I really feel like only the major conferences should have conference tournaments. There is no excuse for a 14-19 team making the tourney just because they got hot at the right time. There's also no excuse that a team like UAB can completely dominate their conference all season, and then not go to the NCAA because they happened to lose one game at the wrong time. The Ivy league had it right, and it's awful that they decided to go back on that.
TheRicSlick
UConn vs Cincy in the 4th OT, thanks to a half-court shot made by UConn. This is March in college basketball!
Seadragon76
Tomorrow is what I like to call "Bid-a-palooza". A total of 14 bids will be given out on Saturday, so... ACC: Virginia vs. North Carolina (A #1 seed is on the line here as these two power meet) America East: Vermont at Stony Brook (The Seawolves are back in the title game for the 3rd year in a row. Is this their time now or does Vermont spoil the moment?) Big 12: West Virginia vs. Kansas (Another #1 seed could be on the line here) Big East: Seton Hall vs. Villanova (The Wildcats need a win to get a #1 seed. Can they beat the rival Pirates?) Big Sky: Montana vs. Weber State (Old powers meet in the first neutral site tournament for the Big Sky) Big West: Long Beach State vs. Hawaii (Warriors having a great season, can they finish with a tournament title?) Conference USA: Old Dominion vs. Middle Tennessee (It's been a down year for C-USA, further compounded by UAB's sudden exit in the Quarterfinals. Which team wins this tournament?) Mid-American: Buffalo vs. Akron (Bulls gun for a repeat trip, but league champ Akron stands in the way) MEAC: South Carolina State vs. Hampton (The Pirates try to become only the second 1 seed to be a tournament champion) Mountain West: Fresno State vs. San Diego State (Down year for the MW, but at least the best two teams meet) Pac-12: Utah vs. Oregon (Can Oregon get a high seed with a win here?) Southland: Texas A&M Corpus Christi vs. Stephen F. Austin (Two best in the Southland face off for the auto bid) SWAC: Southern vs. Jackson State (Despite being the four seed, Southern is the best team in the SWAC... can they prove it?) WAC: Cal State Bakersfield vs. New Mexico State (Roadrunners try to beat the WAC's bully)

This is March in college basketball! Yeah, this game is nuts. As they've been saying in the broadcast, with a loss, UConn's probably out of the tourney right now, so that was a gigantic shot. Maybe this will be one of those years where UConn pulls a national championship out of their ass.
Germanshepherd
Sure hope Cincy gets in the tourney. They were competitive for 4OT against another really good bubble team. If the committee values the eye test, than the Bearcats shouldn't have any trouble getting in. i have unquantifiable corpses on my conscience
TheRicSlick
Buddy Hield drills a half-court shot to win the game against WVU, the only problem, the ball was still in his hands when time expired. WVU moves on. Buddy is one hell of a player.
B-Rich
LSU, with the NCAA Freshman of the Year and consensus projected #1 NBA draft pick (Ben Simmons) loses in the SEC Tourney semifinal to Texas A&M. By a score of 71-38. This wasn't just LSU's lowest point total of the season; it was the lowest points scored by ANY team this season. Pathetic. To hell with the NIT; Coach Johnny Jones needs to be fired tomorrow. It is what it is.

To hell with the NIT; Coach Johnny Jones needs to be fired tomorrow. Joe Alleva is kinda busy this weekend as he is on the Selection Committee. That said, LSU's biggest problem wasn't really Jones, who is a great recruiter, but average bench coach. It was the rest of the team who thought they were ALL better players than Simmons and tried to (over)play. While Simmons was 4-11 from the field, Quartermain was 2-14, Gray was 2-9 and Blakeney was 1-13. All season those dudes jacked up shots basically in protest to say, "I'm just as good as him, if not better." Don't fret, LSU has been squandering basketball talent for decades with Dale Brown and John Brady before Jones. Ask Chris Jackson, Shaq, Stanley Roberts, Randy Livingston and Stromile Swift. Seadragon76
The final 5 bids are up for grabs tomorrow Atlantic 10: St. Joseph's vs. VCU (Hawks on a roll recently. Can the Rams stop them?) SEC: Kentucky vs. Texas A&M (Battle of the best here...) Sun Belt: UL Monroe vs. Little Rock (Trojans might scare people if they get in) Big Ten: Purdue vs. Michigan State (Sparty always does well in March, come on) American: Memphis vs. UConn (The Huskies are pretty much at this point... can Memphis squeak in and steal a bid?)
