Twitter account for fictional MLB team in Omaha

Recommended Posts

It’d be cool if it were real. Not sure how feasible Omaha is for major sports leagues. I know there was a time when they (sorta) had the NBA's Kings, but that’s all I can think of.

that's a nice jersey but this whole thing is completely insane

Yeah, it’s kind of crazy, but if you read the pinned tweet, it sounds like the whole project is a labor of love between a father and his son, which I can definitely appreciate.

You think this is bad, you should see the people who use Twitter to play characters from cancelled Aaron Sorkin shows.

The placket trim is odd since it's on both seams and not just the outer.

The wordmark is way too far to the viewer's left - PION seems a lot wider than ERS (with the aforementioned awkward E in the middle.)

Omaha sounds too much like Canada. No way Gary hands them a team.

My Bases Loaded for NES had a Omaha team lol

I remember that lol.

I also remember being perplexed that they chose Omaha to represent their "O" team rather than Oakland or even Orlando.

Plot twist: the Twitter account is controlled by Warren Buffett, and he has already locked down an expansion franchise for his hometown

That's a very old-school look.

Not sure it works with all of these, but I actually wouldn't mind seeing a team bring it back, especially if they had a simple wordmark.

It works exceptionally well with insignia designs.

Indeed.  Anything relatively simple.  Looked good with the Dodgers’ script, and if the Brewers ever wanted to get away from pinstripes it would look great with their simple arched block wordmark.
