What are your thoughts on the plastic-looking numbers, nametag, new helmet horn, and messy shoulder design?

Numbers are fine, though I wouldn’t fight if they were changed. Name tags can go. I love everything about the helmet. Shoulder design (on the bone jerseys, I assume you’re talking about) blends in too much for me to consider it a negative, though that’s obviously not a positive thing either.

Everything (except that gorgeous helmet) has flaws, but I don’t think any are overly bad. It’s not what I’d do for the Rams, but it’s not some eye-burning monstrosity like Tampa Bay had either.

I don't think the Jets' current uniforms are terrible, per se... they're just kinda underwhelming. I see what they're trying to do but...it just...ain't...quite...there just yet. I DO like that they went with a brighter green. That's about the only solid positive I can give that look. Everything else ranges from a "meh" to a "mehhhhh"--except the black alts. Those can get gone yesterday.

(I'm not totally against the idea of a black alt, but...with this team it's just wholly unnecessary.)

*Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. 😁

Are we ever gonna see the Colts in blue socks with the road look again at this point?

And why do the Lions suddenly hate the blue pants? We better see them in Seattle next week.

The colts are a team who’s look of color in socks is EXCEPTIONALLY bad, because that’s there only source of color in the away set. Without the blue socks, the set as a whole looks lifeless and bland IMO

I was really excited for the Bengals to break out the orange socks, but I think I actually prefer the black socks with this combo.

This might sound crazy, but if the socks had stripes like the helmet did, it may actually work better.

Something pretty wild; there has not been a single color vs color matchup all year.

All 240 games played so far (assuming the Dolphins wear white like the GUD says) have been color vs white or color vs bone (thanks Rams)

Last year we saw 4 (Buccaneers pewter vs Broncos orange, Lions gray vs Falcons red/black gradient,  Seahawks gray vs Cardinals black, Cardinals black vs Seahawks action green)

2019 also saw 4, and 2018 saw 2 a piece. Both had at least one game without the Seahawks gray jerseys in it.

There's been 6 games over the past 3 years to see true color vs color, and even more when Color Rush was mandatory on Thursday night.

Last year without a non-Seahawks color vs color matchup? 2014

The Bengals looked good yesterday. The thing about their black on black with the orange socks  is that it looks like that uniform was designed to be worn that way. The orange socks balance out the orange helmet and the big stripes on the pants are a nice pop of color. I think it’s actually a good, well thought out “monochrome” uniform.

Take note everyone else: Contrasting socks are just better

Hot Take: The Jets' 2019 rebrand is on par with the Browns' 2015 rebrand. They both look terrible.

I don't see it, personally. The Jets don't have anything as stupid as the pants wordmarks, contrasting stitching, misaligned drop shadows, or orange numbers on the road. It's a fairly simple, standard football uniform that gets an overexaggerated level of hate because the Jets are an easy target for ridicule.

I don't hate the Jets uniforms, but my issue is they basically repeated history by going to the 2019 version of their 80's uniforms* when the only problem with the Namath unis was that they'd fallen into template hell and just needed someone in the front office to give enough of a care to tell Nike to fix their s***. Maybe in 20 years they'll repeat history again by returning to the Namath uniforms.

*the funny thing is the Browns awful rebrand also followed the same pattern by making all the same mistakes that they'd made in 1984.

I think it’ll be much sooner that the Jets return to Namath’s uniforms, preferably with an even brighter Kelly Green. USC/Texans-style shoulder inserts done in the style of the old shoulder stripes would be most welcome.

Also, the stripes being green/white/green on white (and white/green/white on green) was a product of the original jersey construction:

…one that later manufacturers forgot to correct on all cuts.

(Green jerseys from Reebok were largely unaffected)

Template-induced atrophy of designs - it’s not pretty. Insert a reminder for Steelers to shrink their sleeve stripes here.

The Seahawks, funnily enough, did advertise a blue over white option when they debuted these unis, though it’s safe to say that’s probably the only time it will ever be seen. Also not holding my breath for grey over white, though grey over blue would still seem to have potential.

I was so happy to see the Seahawks finally wear the navy jersey over grey wolf pants at home.  I wish the seahawks would quit using the navy onsie at home and away.  The grey wolf pants really breaks up the monotony.

Fun fact: The Colts actually started out wearing all-white with white socks back in the 50's.

Honestly, I think that's a pretty good look. All-white has been part of the football aesthetic for a long time, and I think it pretty much always looks good as long as the socks are striped. That goes for you too, New Orleans, Detroit, and Buffalo.

Shout out to the Browns for doing it right.Packers lucky to get away with poor defensive performance vs. Browns

Browns vs. Jaguars Final Score: Cleveland survives questionable officiating and mistakes, 27-25 - Dawgs By Nature

We've even seen Indy do it before recently.

Browns have that color pop with the orange helmet. I don’t mind all-white on occasion, but blue socks just makes the matchup look more interesting 95% of the time

Here's some more pictures. As a fan, I'm a fan.

would've been a good day for the Ravens to use their purple pants.

Surprised it’s come to this, but the full color sock trend is really bugging me, ESPECIALLY when there’s high contrast. Those tiny white socks really pulled their weight keeping the colored sock from having too much real estate, basically nothing more than five inches of color below the knee and above the halfway mark of the calf. Now, made even worse by players wearing their pants shorter than ever, the sock color takes up half if not more of the entire leg. The leg is split evenly in color between the tights and the pants, which looks really slow and unprofessional to me. The Jags have a similar problem when they put teal socks with their black pants. It’s no secret that tights have upended the sock in NFL uniforms almost completely over the last ten years, but the little whites used to add to the illusion that these are still the socks that go with an NFL uniform. Now, there is no illusion to conceal that these are grown men wearing brightly colored tights with tiny black shorts over top.

HOUSTON-TEXAS-SEPTEMBER-12-Trevor-Lawren

Trevor Lawrence’s lanky ass legs make it so that his teal tights get a bigger piece of the pie than his black pants. I think I honestly just prefer the “black leggings” look at this point, since the lack of contrast keeps me from thinking all game about what it would look like if Gumby wore an outfit that was just biker shorts and a football helmet. Socks were never meant to have as much power as they do in the modern league.
