Or at least give it a try as an alternate this would not make a good alternate. during the revolution the british red coats wore red while the american patriots wore blue. Please read your response again. The Patriots ALWAYS wore red before changing their uni's in 1991. Since their birth as the Boston Patriots they wore red jerseys, they even wore red a couple of years backs on thanksgiving. So I think that is not the reason they haven't worn red. Sheesh, this is football! Does it matter that the original Patriots uniform wasn't historically accurate to the colonial era (though the colonial flag was red, white, and blue)? So the British troops wore red. Big deal. The uniform has nothing to do with that.It has to do with the flag that those patriots and all patriots since have fought for. Thus the red, white, and blue color scheme of New England's football team.That said, the current Patriots silver alternates need to go. Now.
