College Basketball 2022-23

I cannot believe that we have a Final Four where the highest seed is a four and the combined total of seeds is 23.

Add into that a 16 and a 15 winning, three first time final four finalists (including two mid majors) and I gotta ask– Greatest Tournament Ever?

Second most ever!

2011 gave us a total of 26 with a 3 seed being the highest.

In terms of sheer amount if upsets, yes. Someone said it earlier, and I'll repeat it here: 2023 March Madness is the CBB equivalent of CFB's 2007 season, where doggone South Florida managed to jump to #2 at one point and freaking KANSAS...KANSAS...had a shot at the natty (only to lose that shot to Missouri...who themselves also had a shot at the natty).

I'm gonna laugh from a hearty healthy place is Miami and Florida Atlantic meet in the title game. (Home-state pride thing, haha.) I 100% don't expect it to happen, though.

*Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. 😁

Miami beating UConn would be the biggest FF upset since Wisconsin/Kentucky in 2015

UConn is currently a 5.5 pt favorite vs Miami.

Kentucky was a 5 pt favorite vs Wisconsin.

That is mindblowing, considering UK was un-freaking-defeated.

Miami has 0 chance against UConn. Texas was the only team that could have stopped the Huskies.

It's their title to lose.

hey, with all due respect, can you shut up for like five minutes? yes, we all know UConn is very likely to win the natty and spoil the party, but that hasn't happened yet, so can we stop treating it like an inevitability and enjoy the Cool Zone we're currently in?

I can’t even imagine what Lebatard is going to be like next week if that happens. I want this so bad.

This Final Four brought to you by NIL and Transfer Portal. THE GAME HAS CHANGED.

16 seeds finally winning in the tournament. Having #15 seeds run deep two years in a row. Creighton coming an eyelash away from the Final 4. It's a new era and I'm here for it. 🍿

But guys, think of the TV ratings and those poor execs running CBS!

The ratings might not be as bad as you think. San Diego State-Florida Atlantic being the under card here makes for a compelling match-up: The Owls' sharp shooting from three point range against the battle tested Aztec D.

Miami and UConn is the main event: The Huskies are the highest seeded team left and are also the only team here with a national championship under their belt. Miami is riding high after coming back to defeat Texas...

Ratings... Like CBS is going to shred their contract and cancel next year's tournament if they don't draw for SDSU/FAU. 😂

I have to say, there’s a part of me that’s really happy to see SDSU in the Final Four. I remember as a kid in Utah watching Mountain West Conference sports all the time, something like the Final Four always felt really distant for the conference (Utah had been in the WAC during thier ‘98 run). For the Aztecs - one of the conference originals - to finally break through and represent the Mountain West in the Final Four is pretty big, and it’s really cool to finally see it happen. If I had to choose one team to root for next weekend and the following Monday, it’d be for the Aztecs to win one for the old Mountain West.

Man, what a ride it's been. I don't think I've been that nervous watching a sporting event since Game 7 of the '09 Stanley Cup Final. I know the odds are stacked against us, but it just seems like a "Team of Destiny" thing right now. Only next weekend will tell, but damn, does it feel amazing to make it this far.
