It's pretty darn late to unveil a set at this point, and usually something would have gotten out by this point.

Pretty darn late? The league year just switched over last week. We're still weeks ahead of the draft.

We need a sticky thread that lists the unveil dates of new uniforms so we can objectively say when it's 'late'.

Thanks to a really slow work day:

In 2022:

49ers (back to three stripes) unveiled April 25th

Commanders unveiled February 2nd

In 2021:

Bengals unveiled April 19th

In 2020 (April was probably the greatest two weeks of this board's history):

Rams unveiled May 13th

Chargers unveiled April 21st

Patriots unveiled April 20th

Browns unveiled April 15th

Colts unveiled April 13th

Falcons unveiled April 8th

Buccaneers unveiled April 7th

In 2019:

Jets unveiled April 4th

In 2018:

Dolphins unveiled April 19th

Jaguars unveiled April 19th

Titans unveiled April 4th

In 2017:

Lions unveiled April 13th

Thanks!

It's interesting that they are as 'late' as they are. Now I wonder how many of them were sprung upon us without warning? Maybe that is why this seems late, since there's been nary a leak.

Shoutout to @DCarp1231 for being the first one to point out the Cards' dubiously uncanny header image from last training camp which featured a player wearing an ill-fitted #23 jersey with most of the current details obscured. I usually don't support this degree of social media detective bull, though this one just felt too good to not be smoke.

I wouldn't be shocked if Carolina has kept a tight lid on something too.

  • David Tepper bought the team 5 years ago. That is plenty of time to go through the redesign process.
  • The current uniform on the current template has noticeably drawn functional criticism, especially for how tiny the TV numbers are. While we complain about bad uniform design elements all the time, something like the functionality of squeezing TV numbers the size of laptop stickers onto the jerseys surely has prompted an internal conversation about needing a refresh (could see an equipment manager immediately bringing it up as an issue).

So, if their jerseys are discounted at the same rate as the Cardinals, that seems like a fairly good indicator. We'll see.

I think they’d use the 2022 alt helmet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the new set was close to that. I’m guessing most of the silver is gone.

Lord, send us a leak. The sight of endless concepts will be the death of me. 🙏

If only there were a place where they could be posted 🤣

That combo in the top left is actually pretty cool and unique. Reminds me of what the Titans should be wearing (more than once in the past three years). In general, I don't hate this or the idea of them going for a more modern rebrand, as long as it's not too over-the-top and full of monochrome. Their current uniforms have gotten stale and outdated, and they rarely wear the proper combinations anymore.

Nah Carolina’s current look is a few minor tweaks away from being perfect. It’s only “stale” for the same reason the Titans old look got “stale”. They started using wacky combinations that made little to no sense and didn’t fit together properly. Guarantee you we’re going to get some crap similar to the Titans but with dumb random cat scratches on the shoulders instead of a sword blade.

Cardinals I’m interested in, but they have the potential to really easily :censored: that whole thing up. The only two things I’d like to see with them is either go WAY traditional and simplified (think a red and white version of the Raiders) to match how old the franchise is, or go in the other direction and go full desert Cardinal to match the area. Replace white with sand or whatever. I’m sure we’re going to get something that straddles those two, tries to keep everything and please everyone, and therefore won’t please anyone.

I really hope that the Cardinals don't go the Jets route, because they already look like Falcons lite, so putting more emphasis on black is going to be terrible for brand distinguishability.

I'm happy and sad to see the Panthers go. I like the fact that they held on to the same uniform for three decades, but (paradoxically) I feel that they've held on for too long.

So this year are we expecting Arizona (based on the discount of jerseys), Carolina (based off the timeline of the teams sale) and Houston has something in the works based off tweets from earlier.

hopefully their good 🤞

Houston is 2024. From the sneak peeks they gave to the media it was all positive feedback. Im interested to see what they go. Looks like they are going with the Old English looking font

I don't think the current look is bad. I just feel that there is more they can do with this color scheme/brand. The generic shoulder striping, for instance, doesn't do quite enough for me anymore. Ideally, I hope they strike a balance between generic striping and tacky over-designed cat scratch marks.
