The helmets almost look like they might’ve been going for a candy paint look — which would be cool for Houston. Works best over Navy, for sure. They barely ever even wear the blue. Why would they suddenly make it the primary when they don’t even use all three alternate jersey games for it?

I remember a few years ago the Vikings helmets and jerseys were just different enough to bug the absolute hell out of me. But then they went and altered it and fixed that issue. I’m just hoping that’s what the Texans decide to do here, because as it stands it looks like they took their regular helmets and sent them to the American Chopper guys to bling them out. They just don’t work with that particular shade of red jersey and actually look kind of gaudy with that particular finish. Like, distractingly gaudy. 5 On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.)
JustABallCoach
CANDY PAINT DRIPPIN’ The red helmets are very popular here in Houston, in large part because of the candy paint. U of H has had the same candy paint for years now. I think the candy helmet is assured to remain in the 2024 rebrand. 3 1

The_Admiral
The team with a megachurch preacher as eminence-grise, the team whose owner once said "the inmates are running the prison," which is not the idiom, is now like "𝕳-𝕿𝖔𝖜𝖓 𝖌𝖔𝖎𝖓𝖌 𝖘𝖎𝖈𝖐𝖔 𝖒𝖔𝖉𝖊 𝖔𝖋𝖋 𝖙𝖍𝖆𝖙 𝖑𝖊𝖆𝖓" and we're just like "well, okay, but I still like the blue better than the red, though" 2 5 ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Because cars are the first things you think of when you think of Houston, or Texas. Much less stupid looking low riders with stupid looking knee cappers for rims. You don’t see jacksonville making designs after the stupid squatted truck fad that is a thing here. Because it’s just that a fad, and a stupid one that only fits a small portion of the local population and has no relevancy outside of it. 1
