What does this even mean???

Vegas allegedly were misled to believe that Dadonov hadn't submitted a no-trade list when they acquired him from Ottawa. They tried to flip him to the Ducks later that season, but found out that he actually did submit a list of teams, and Anaheim was on it, so the trade was not allowed to go through.

There are rumours that they may have to forfeit a 1st round pick, but Elliotte Friedman believes that because ownership has changed since the violation occurred, it likely won't be that steep. He compared it to the situation with New Jersey & the Kovalchuk contract issue. New ownership was in place, so the league reduced the penalty.

I do think that the punishment should happen anyway, because one of the consequences of acquiring a faulty organization is dealing with the fallout of the previous regime. The fact that a new owner took over in Ottawa since this happened does not change the fact that they (allegedly) screwed Vegas over in the trade. I won't speak on whether the punishment they decide on is valid (it sounds like they will be getting more punishment than the Blackhawks did for Kyle Beach), but there should still be some consequences.

I think from now on, if they weren't before, any no-trade list should have to be on file with the league office. Call it a learning opportunity; Sens didn't really commit a punishable offense here.

Well like I said, there is precedent for a reduced punishment due to an ownership change.

I think it depends on how honest the Senators were being. As the story has been reported, Vegas asked Ottawa if the NTC was valid and Ottawa said it wasn't. I can't see it not being a punishable offence if Ottawa knowingly lied to Vegas or were derelict of duty.

Hawks @ Yotes tonight in a nutshell;

They're my wife's team. After all the times I've seen them get mercilessly shellacked, I'm fine with it.

Especially when it's Chicago on the receiving end. They showed no mercy to anyone during their dominance in the early to mid 10's.

Thunder Bay Lynx - International Hockey Association (2 seasons, 2017-18, 2019-20, 2018 Xtreme Cup Champions)Houston Armadillos - Major League Hockey (2 seasons, 2016-18) | Minnesota Muskies - North American Basketball Association (1 season, 2017-2018) | Louisville Thoroughbreds - United League of Baseball (1 season, 2017, 2017 United Cup Champions) | Las Vegas Thunderbirds - International Basketball League (1 season, 2016-17, 2017 Champions)

Sharks might just be the worst NHL team ever.

Holy. 0-9-1 and they just got pulverized by Vancouver 10-1. Now I’m very curious and I’m gonna have to stay up late for their next game to get a glimpse of this train wreck.

Maybe even worse than their expansion years. The Bay Area really has some dip:censored: owners. The Sharks owner is absentee (lives in Germany). John Fisher is a piece of :censored:. The 30 member Giants consortium are cheap. 49ers win but the Yorks still suck. At least Joe Lacob wants to win.

Being a Sharks fan is like being a BJ Penn fan. The glory days, which weren’t that good to begin with, are long gone. Meanwhile, the present is a continued and confounding embarrassment, one that gets funnier every year.

I knew San Jose was bad, but I didn’t know they were this bad. My SO and I saw them play the Kings at the Salt Lake preseason game, where they tied the game and took it into overtime, only to lose 17 seconds in.

I even recall a spectator shout “The Sharks are an AHL team!” When the Sharks scored the tying goal—little did I know how on-the-nose he was.

I remember saying in 2010 that the Sharks were mortgaging their future to a dangerous extent. They must have been able to keep kicking the can down a few additional roads to get to this place, but this was always their fate.

And there have been rumors that they may look to go elsewhere if SJ doesn’t publicly fund a new arena for them and the city is just like lol please leave!

I’m not sure what the future of this team really is, but I’d have to assume it’ll be as a tenant at the Chase Center at some point in the not too distant future.

Nah. They'll move to San Diego.

To further my BJ Penn comparison, demanding a publicly-funded arena after all the garbage hockey is as stupid as saying that CTE doesn’t exist, despite their own cognitive decline.

The Sharks have all the mental capacity of a moron with stage II CTE.

I have tickets to see these bums play against Toronto just after the new year. BiL was pretty gung Ho about it, and I think he’s already regretting getting them.
