Michigan Jerseys

I didn't get a great look at them, but I know both patches had the "M" logo. For the past few years many teams have worn some special Rose Bowl patch, and a few Big Ten school has special helmet logos with a rose on it.

Edit: I think the patches say "Big Ten Champions, Back to Back"

On the patch on the right shoulder, the script at the bottom reads "Back to Back"; on the left shoulder it reads "Jan. 1, 2005"

Edit again: The right shoulder reads, "Big Ten Champions, Back to Back", the left shoulder reads, "Rose Bowl, Pasadena, CA, Jan. 1, 2005"

this is basically something Michigan does for almost every bowl game they go to(mainly those where the blue jerseys are worn, can't recall what they did the last time they had to wear their whites). I remember in the 94 rose bowl UW had the W on each shoulder with a white rose over it, "Rose Bowl" above the W and "1994" under it. UCLA had red roses on their shoulders IIRC

Michigan ALWAYS does it for the Rose Bowl. I remember '98 specifically (When Griese and Woodson led them to 1/2 of the 1997 season national championship).

I know they didn't do anything other than the Bowl patch when they wore their whites vs. Tennessee in the 2002 Citrus Bowl.

The logos are actually screened on as you can se here: Rose Bowl logo close-up Personally I think they look great, really adds to the plain-ass look of the regular white circle patch of the Rose Bowl. I do have a book somewhere from when they won the NC in '98 that shows a pic of a player in a white uniform with the special Rose Bowl logos on the shoulders, though I'm not sure of the year. I'll get back to you guys on that.

The close-up picture makes me like it more, but eh, I'm still iffy on using it. I think its unique (for me, even though its been done before, I've never seen it) though, so, well. It's growing on me.

The funny part was Michigan went crazy reminding everyone they were playing in the Rose Bowl, while most of the time you could barely see the Rose Bowl patch on the Texas uniforms.

I liked the Michigan design except for the bottom part. The cursive font should have matched the rest of the design a little better. I like that Michigan likes to be a bit different with their jerseys. And it would have have looked better if they weren't required to wear the generic Rose Bowl logo and BCS design on the helmet.

kinda looks like an AFL team with all the sponsor patches everywhere. but i like when teams add the rose to their logo like purdue did a few years back, but with the wings, i dont think michigan could do that

Texas had one?

Both teams had the same Rose Bowl logo patch on their chest/shoulder area.

It was in a white circle, thus it did not stand out on Texas' white unis.

i am so happy they lost. the uniform additions were all right. the script font should have been block in my opinion.

i'm somewhat embarrased to admit this, but a couple years before that game, I had a UCLA sweatshirt. thankfully, i haven't had one since :D

nowadays i got a UW shirt where there used to be a script Wisconsin with the W under it. the W's pretty much gone, and it more or less says Wisc now :hockeysmiley:

no wonder i had to go to the JS archives to check out those two words, i was too busy cheerin on Moss, Bevell & company...heck, I remember UW's punter Sam Veit, as he'd been the QB-P at my high school back in the day (his jersey hangs on our fieldhouse wall alongside Duane Kuiper's)

Kuiper! Steve Stone's favorite player of all time!
