I don't like it. I give you a little credit for trying to be innovative, but it tries too hard to be different. Stripes don't line up, and a lot of the color patterns would make double digits and long names hard to read. The football stitches are squeezed into the fleur-de-lis, it becomes very cluttered at a small size. And the back numbers are supposed to be larger than the front ones.

I too, do not like them, but like jp, I will tell you why.

a. The laces on the fleur are unnecessary. Their logo is one of the great sports icons in my opinion, and is beautiful in its simplicity.

b. One of your facemasks is grey, one is white. Umm, yeah 0 for 2. I like them black because they go better with the scheme of black and gold with white as an accent.

c. The striping, while it may be unique, is also gaudy, which takes away from the class of the uniform. I look at this uniform, and I think, "WTF is going on with those weird stripes?" instead of thinking, "Man, those unique stripes really add depth to this uniform!" They are not attractive to me, rather, they are just weird. Moreover, the stripes are discontinuous on the white jersey.

d. The oval with the SAINTS mark in it up the side of the pants strikes me as a very unprofessional element. I do not even see high school teams do that. Maybe the occasional arena team does it, but basically, it just looks like more gaudy advertising to me. I think the only place a wordmark belongs on a football uniform is under the collar.

e. Black numerals on black jerseys are a huge pet peeve of mine. I think they look cheap, and they remind me of trendy knockoff sports retail companies like colosseum athletics. Yes, i am talking to the SF Giants as well. same comment for the name on the white jersey.

f. I would rather see black pants with the gold jersey, and all your uniforms have grey collars, yet i see grey nowhere else in the set or the color palette.

Good first attempt, but keep trying.

As a Saints fan of many years (all your sympathies are appreciated) I must say one thing, PLEASE dont redo this logo OR the color scheme. They are original and unique. Now as far as the concept u have here, I will offer these comments and critiques. First off, I thought u had a really cool idea with the jersey, until i looked harder. I originally thought u were going with a "fer-de-lis" cut on the jersey (hopefully everyone follows my thinking on that, cuz I really dont know how to explain it without a visual aid), which I thought would be REALLY cool if done properly. Now, as far as your pants go, definitely not the way to go with ANY jersey. Maybe I will do the uniform that I am thinking you WANTED to make and post it, just to see if that was the direction you wanted to go in.

Good start though, youll improve, im confident in that.

As a New Orleanian, I don't like it. The pants are not very good. In my opinion there is not one designer that would put that name into the pant. In regards to the logo, the laces are our of place and do not belong. The Fleur-de-leis is a great and very unique logo, putting the laces there degrades it. The jerseys, although a unique concept, are not very well thought out. I especially dislike the gold one. The Saints should never wear gold jerseys EVER! But you do have some promise, just keep working at it. Mahalo.

I think some people are being a bit tough on these IMO. Al;though the striping looks strange my only real complaint against it is that it is white on the black jersey. Why not gold? I'd take the 'saints' patch off the pants as well. And they grey color is a bit strange. make it the same color as the shirt striping maybe. And leave the logo alone. but I think in many ways your thinking is very good here, good try.

2 words: IT SUCKS!

Damn, good job on the constructive criticism

Anyways, back on topic, I like the idea of the fleur-de-lis, but like Braden said, I think you might need to just go back to square one when it comes to the unis.

*points to self* :P

I've tried player names on the middle of the back. You KNOW I'll use the team wordmark on teh pants if I think it'll work. :hockeysmiley:

back on topic, think about doing a TATC project. heck, think of this as the starting point. you did have a plan for this, and the back reminds me of a Texas Tech jersey I did a couple years ago, except I made sure folks knew the "cape" had a start and an end. that contrast part on the back, I see where it ends but when I look at the front I wonder where it starts. and if the 70s Spurs and 2001 Giants taught us nothing else, black numbers on black jerseys never work. gold or white, but not black.

These are kind of jarring, but overall - I don't mind them. I am a traditionalist so I am not as much into side panels and "bengalization" for lack of a better term. However, if you are going to go that route, they might as well be *really* unique - and these sure are. Visually I think they are striking, and I like the uniqueness and artistry. In terms of practicality and tradition, they wouldn't pass the test. In ten years - maybe. Oh yeah - I do kind of like the laces on the logo. The tradition of the logo would disqualify this, but taken on its own I like the idea.

I'll never understand why the Saints modified their logo in 2000...it was larger before, and now it's too small. I think their unis are great as they are, and should only wear the black pants on occasion.

Hey Pantone, do you have the color scheme of the gold the Saints used to wear back when they came in the league? It had more of a mustard tone to it instead of the gold they have now.
