How to build an MLB Stadium

It has come to my attention that perhaps the game could use some more exciting play. This is why if I were managing a ballclub, the dimensions would look like this.

LL - 400

LF - 430

LC - 470

CF - 500

RC - 470

RF - 430

RL - 400

25 foot walls, 15 foot plexiglas over 10 foot padded. Build the team around pitching, speed, and defense, and you might have a winner. Couldn't you see the crowds coming out to see a nice 1-0 game? Besides, the triple is the most exciting play in baseball.

Who the hell would build THAT for his team? I don't think any team should go past 430 to dead center. I'd like to see RFK push their fences back to make 420 in dead center, but 500? Are you on crack?

Besides, I like seeing Weaver-style baseball. Walks and 3-run homers all the way, baby

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

That is a huge outfield. If you enjoy doubles and triples and billions of runs, I say, build it and they will come.

Plus, the triple wouldn't be so exciting if it became a common thing.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

Would the MLB even allow this? I thought that all new parks built had to be within a certain set of dimensions set by the MLB offices.

Id much rather see a park like this

LL - 100

LF - 130

LC - 170

CF - 200

RC - 170

RF - 130

RL - 100

75 foot high walls

They do have restrictions...

Rule 1.04a says ?The distance from home base to the nearest fence, stand or other obstruction on fair territory shall be 250 feet or more. A distance of 320 feet or more along the foul lines, and 400 feet or more to center field is preferable.

Man, would I love to watch that! Infact I wouldn't mind seeing what willmorris proposed, all I would like to see is a game played with extremely different restrictions. Either really close, where we'd get t see tones of HR's or really far, where we'd see triples and doubles.

Like a home run.

Here's what I'd do:

LL-320

LF-350

LC-375

CF-425

RC-365

RF-350

RL-340

20 foot wall in left, 5 foot wall in right, Houston-style hill in center, ivy covered walls for added difficulty factor, a few sharp angles in the wall for weird bounces.
