Blue Falcon
Sportstalk 980 is a DC-area sports show, so I'm sure only a few folks may have heard this: there's a lot of hatred in the DC area towards the all-white unis that Gibbs apparently loves since he's a superstitious fool. 980 took 27 calls from listeners about it and NONE of them like this look and want a return to the white-on-burgundy look. It's amazing how superstitious grown men can be. Sure, they won 6 straight in those unis last year...they also got knocked out of the playoffs wearing them. And they won 3 Super Bowls in white-on-burgundy.Many people wanted a return to the burgundy-on-yellow from the 70s or the spear helmet uni...not one voice supported the all-white uni, and many of them said they just look like practice uniforms.Hope Gibbs gets the message... leopard88
I am anything but a Redskins fan, but count me as a fan of the white-on-white. I think it looks very sharp. As a general rule, I dislike football uniforms with pants that are darker than the jersey (gold, yellow, silver and pewter excepted, because they are fairly light colors (well, except for pewter anyway)). The burgundy pants are just another example of that that has never worked for me. hormone
I like white/white for a few games. But they should go back to white/burgundy and burgundy/white for the majority...yes that's a dark jersey for home! I hate it because the dark jersey is hardly or never worn anymore. Bleujayone
Just a thought, but since is the team is called the Redskins, I'm surprised they haven't tried an all burgundy uniform at least once. I mean it would fit their name if they did dress in all one color. We all have our little faults. Mine's in California.
lost_limey
I don't like the white pants, so I dislike the white/white for that. I also dislike the the burgundy jersey/white pants combo. I like the burgundy jersey/gold pants and the white jersey/burgundy pants look. I also disliked the 'spear' 2002 jerseys because I like the current colors better, and I prefer the redskins head to the fsu spear.

tjpskillz34
I don't think they should get rid of the white/white combo, but they should adjust how they are using it. Take a page out of the Miami Dolphins' book and use them seperate for home and away. When they are on the road, use the white/white. But when they are in DC, they should definitely wear the white/burgandy as their "home combo". I know the Dolphins normally do all white @ home and then wear the teal pants on the road. I think it's sharp!Thoughts? Please bring me some defense this offseason!!!
cranium
I hate white on white for any NFL uniform. It is just a personal preference, however. I've come to accept it for those that "traditionally" have gone with white on white, like the Colts. Overall, I've always thought that that white on white looked "soft" for some reason. Again, it is mostly a matter of personal preference. rack me
slats7
From Czabe.com:Okay, this is going to sound insane, but hear me out.If the Redskins keep wearing those stupid white-on-white uniforms, I?m going to have a much harder time rooting for them.No really. I mean it. While I love my team, it?s painful to look at those unis. Jerry Seinfeld once famously said that you ?root for laundry? in sports. The jersey. The uniform. The players will always change, but the uniforms stay the same. At least the classics do.I think the burgundy pants and white tops are classics. Sue me.I would be somewhat more okay with a uniform change, if at least it was a well thought out change. One that real professionals were in charge of. This is not that. This is guys just saying: ?Hey, let?s mix and match the pants and shirt! Cool!?Think I am over-reacting? Fine. But ask any Packer fan how they would feel if the Pack went ?green-on-green.? Or how about the Cowboys shunning the silver pants for white-on-white? Trust me. You would be just as pissed off.The pants change was SUPPOSED to be good luck on the 5-game run at the end of last year. Fine. That luck is gone. Somebody, please, stop the madness.Where?s Bubba Tyer when you need him??
FiddySicks
The Redskins White Jersey Burgandy pants look is the best damn look in any sport IMO. I was so bummed to see the Skins wear the all white look so often last season. Honestly, that combo is one reason that I like the Skins as much as I do. Its nostalgic, and im a sucker for nostalgia. SteveR
I agree. The white-on-white has run its course. Besides, the team is known as the "burgundy & gold" and it's hard to fathom a look in which both of the signature colors are trim colors.I also hope we NEVER see burgundy-on-burgundy. I am of an all-ecompassing view that ALL dark-on-dark and monochromatic uniforms are ghastly of the highest degree. Nobody has pulled it off. Nobody. Not even the Seahawks. If you're not wearing white jerseys, the number of colors of pants that make sense to me is limited -- white, silver, gold, yellow and orange. In 5..4..3..2..1
Guys you do know they changed to all white to appease Clinton Portis who does'nt like the white stripped socks. They tried to wear the burgundy pants with the burgundy socks and the team was swampped by emails of hatred toward that look so they switched back and then Portis kept bitching to Gibbs and he gave in. He thinks white stripped socks makes him look slow, Portis that is.

Gibbs is being WAY too much of a nice guy, and this is pure madness to change the team uniforms just because one screwball player doesn't like how his socks look!!!! THIS IS THE NFL, CLINTON!!!!Gibbs is also to blame for the white-on-white thing, because he said it makes the players look bigger. So friggin' what?? Gibbs should be forced to wear the same damn underwear for every game too...and if they lose he doesn't get to wash them.
bucskick20
My favorite NFL away uniform is the Redskins White jersey with Burgundy pants. I hope he gets the message because the white on white jerseys look stupid.
Jigga
Just go back to the 70th Anniversary home jersey and create a companion road set. tBBP
Just go back to the 70th Anniversary home jersey and create a companion road set. Agreed! (Although not with that FSU look--can't have a team I don't even like looking like my blood NCAA football team, even if a former head coach of theirs was once the quarterback of my blood NFL squad. Two gold starts to whoever can guess the right answer to that one...)FSU look aside, that 70'th anniversary edition was the best look they had. Keep the burgundy dome, either with the current logo, script "R" or encircled "R", go back to the 70th-anniversary burgundy tops, create a corresponding white shirt, then devise the yellow pants they used with the 70th anniversary set to be used with either jersey--or, if they must, devise a burgundy set of pants to correspond to the yellow ones.But...AGAIN...this is all just one man's opinion...my two rusted Lincolns. *Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. || dribbble || Behance ||
Redskins24
The white/white is very sharp in my opinion. It gives the entire look a little more modernity, as the helmet preserves the classy tradition of the uniform.
