jhans203
With the passing away of Lamar Hunt today, I think the Chiefs should rename Arrowhead to the Lamar Hunt Stadium in his honor...of course this is not enough for a man who is responsable for football as we know it. But, I think its a must....what does everyone else think?

NorthStar74
Yes that would be great to see Arrowhead Stadium renamed in honor of Hunt... when that will happen we will know... and I am sure the NFL will have some say in honoring him with something this coming weekend... winghaz
Great idea, jhans. If anyone deserves to have a football stadium named after him, it's Lamar Hunt. And probably George Halas, but that's another story.
TBGKon
Lamar Hunt Field makes so much sense, and since the the name Arrowhead isn't corporate, it makes the change easier to do. Fans will most likely approve since Hunt was the biggest influence in the history of football in America.
Mings
I imagine they will do something like the Broncos did.......Lamar Hunt Stadium at Arrowhead....to keep in the Arrowhead name.
Ez Street
Lamar Hunt Field at Arrowhead StadiumArrowhead Stadium is a name Lamar liked. I seriously doubt they'll change that. @DavidStreeter
Jezus_Ghoti
Arrowhead Stadium is a great name. As important as Hunt was, I don't think they can just toss the old name aside. Some combination of the two is the best way to go.
Herk
What they really should do is renamed the AFC Championship trophy after him
FiddySicks
Gahhh, this tribute thing is getting out of hand. Lamar Hunt was a fine man and did a lot for the sport, but there are just as many people who have done as much for their respective sports and who haven't been honored with a permanent uniform logo and a change in the stadium name and people are fine with it. Ok so if they insist on it maybe rename the front entrance to honor LH, but the ENTIRE stadium is a bit over the top if you ask me and is in a lot of ways an empty tribute IMO. The Chiefs should take that money they would use to add a permanent tribute or change the stadium name and donate to a charity in Hunt's honor or something. LMU
Id be all for a name change, plus maybe even a Browns or Bears style "LH" embedded in the sleeve striping.

Lamar Hunt Field at Arrowhead Stadium would be the best name if they decide to name it after him. Because after all he's done for the game, he deserves it. STL FANATIC
Here's something I've always been curious about but never checked on that's A BIT off topic...I know a company named Arrowhead used to sponsor the arena in Anaheim, hence, the Arrowhead Pond.I'm assuming Arrowhead Stadium comes from the name Chiefs and is a non-sponsored Stadium, though?I've also though if that's the case that Arrowhead the company should pay minimal sponsorship fees to try and get their logo and brandname on stadium items. Wouldn't be worth much because people wouldn't automatically recognize the brandname as the sponor, but that would keep it from spoiling tradition, and the company could still get logo recognition.Anyways, just curious. I don't have a clue what the Arrowhead company is or does (maybe they're LA area only or something), or where the Arrowhead Stadium name came from.I just felt like chiming in with that. Thanks for any clarification and sorry for taking the thread off track. JUSTIN STRIEBEL | PORTFOLIO | RESUME | CONTACT

Ehhh, maybe its only in California, but its probably the worst tasting bottled water ever. It tastes like they took it straight from the Los Angeles water supply.
