SJ Sharks hate the new unis

Well hopefully if the players hate it then they'll just do what the NBA did with the new ball. It's not like decisions aren't reversable.

What really bugs me from a Fan standpoint, is the fact that they will no longer sell quality "replica" jerseys. Next year's replica jerseys will apparently be nothing better than something I could make with a jersey, iron-on kit, and a copy of Illustrator at my apartment. I'll have to shell out even more $$$ to get authentic jerseys, in all their form-fitting...beer gut exposing glory.

I thought the NHL was trying to win back its fans...not push them away again?

That's why I plan on going bananas with the current jersey style, which will no doubt drop dramatically in price.

Let's all just hope this trend goes the way of the Cooperalls.

And who the hell is Smith? Are we supposed to assume it's Mark Smith of the Sharks? The writer never says...

Luckily I just picked up my Sharks Jonathan Cheechoo road jersey, and I plan on buying a few others after the holiday season.

The NHL said that would be the case. Pretty sad, huh?

same here, i plan on doing the same. i will not reward RBK for a crap product. anybody that spends a dime on the new crap replicas and form fitting authenics is simply rewarding RBK for poking out our eyes and skull :censored:ing us.

From what I could it seemed like they were going to have 3 jersey types. The Authentics, the Replicas, and the lower-tier cheaper replicas like you're mentioning. It was worded quite badly, but I think they're saying they want to offer a cheaper replica for fans who still can't afford the already pretty expensive replicas.

I may be wrong though.

Raise your hand if you think this whole uni deal with the NHL is another "New Coke" fiasco waiting to happen.

I really don't see how there any chance in hell that the new unis will fly in Detroit since the last time they changed something on the Wings sweaters was those funky numbers that lasted all of what, one season? And that was 20 years ago. I think the only other change before that was centering the whole logo instead of centering the wheel itself and that was some 35 years ago?

I can also easily see these going down in flames in Montreal and Boston easily.

I once had a car but I crashed it. I once had a guitar but I smashed it. I once, wait where am I going with this?

Much of what the NHL has done, is planning to do and may do in the future is actually making hate the game. A game I truly loved over any other. Sure, jerseys don't make they game, and that's cool, I could live with bad jerseys. But the game itself is being raped. This other little stuff just adds to it.

I know it's just one article dealing with one test market, but how could CCM/Reebok look at this kind of press and not make wholesale changes? It sounds like that RJR/Nabisco women's cigarette that tested through the floor back in 1986.

Article: "Think of the most distinctive symbol of the NHL. The one thing that gives the league any cool points with the general public. The sweater."

Wrong. The correct answer is: The fighting.

The sweater? Seriously? That wasn't even in my top 50 guesses. I get ridiculed when I wear mine casually.
