heh, I liked the old camos more than this version, and I'd have changed the pattern to some sort of digital camo if I were them, but heh, I'd like em to get their hands on that blue camo the Navy's phasing in when they can do so.

Sorry, don't know MLB.

Is it a tradition to wear those types of jerseys on opening day or is this due to weather conditions. or am I off on both, thanks!

San Diego is a major military city so they honor those fans a few times a year with these uniforms.

Ah David Wells, what a way to celebrate the sacrifice of many brave men and women, to see the fat slob that is David Wells wearing a "military" uniform. Can somebody get an oompa loompa to roll him off the field? :D

it is interesting detail that you can see with Bowen's sleeve. The flag is reverse just like in many military. Nice little detail there.

I wonder why people moan and cry about these sets. These are not offical alts where you would see the Padres wear once a week. These are once or twice a year unis honoring the military in their area.

People should be moaning at the gold away. Ugly. Just go to gray like everyone else.

For all the bird de lis haters I think the bird de lis isnt supposed to be a pelican and a fleur de lis I think its just a fleur de lis with a pelicans head. Thats what it looks like to me. Also the flair around the tip of the beak is just flair that fleur de lis have sometimes source I am from NOLA.

I thought he retired

He never officially retired but said he would only play if "the right situation" came up, which meant he would only play for San Diego since he lives here. SD wanted him to be the 5th starter and talked him into coming back one more year.

I agree, I think it's a classy move to pay tribute to the military, and these uniforms have more originality then any of the other uniforms in the Padres set (home, away and navy alt).

We don't use the DCU (Desert Camo Uniform) anymore so they should switch to ACU tops. I think that would be a pretty sweet jersey. I would buy one, but, I've got a ton of ACU stuff already :)
