Assistant Captian of the Flyers. Look at these stats and TELL ME +/- DOES NOT MATTER.Plus here is the overpaid part: He signed for $3,500,000 per year in 05 and he still has 2 years left on his contract. GP G A P +/-2002-2003 Stars 82 8 22 30 37 2003-2004 Red Wings 15 0 4 4 4 2005-2006 Flyers 77 4 13 17 2 2006-2007 Flyers 82 3 6 9 -24I'm guessing that you didn't watch and/or follow the 2006/07 Philadelphia Flyers. In my opinon, and as a defenseman myself, it doesn't matter. You can't judge how well a defenseman is, by just his +/-. What if a defenseman plays a shift with a lot of offensive minded forwards who don't do jack in the defensive zone? (just like who I played with this last season .) Souray could very well, be playing shifts with forwards who make no effort to get back. so that would greatly effect his +/-.
